Good news / Bad news. Tesla sent me the "scheduled delivery" email and I have a date of Dec. 4th. However, there's no indication in my online account that the build has been changed to LR RWD. Also sent an email to the local store asking if there are any orphaned LR RWD and they replied with two LR AWD models and didn't acknowledge my request for RWD. Failure of customer service 101: acknowledge concern, address it with or without a solution.

that is terrible. i’d call and see what happened to your request. worse case scenario are you ok with awd? at least you may get it before the end of the year.

Now that you have a delivery, you need to call the delivery team and have them verify what you are being sent. They can see it now that you have been sent a delivery e-mail. Congrats either way.

Spoke with the Inside Delivery Advisor who sent me the "prepare for your delivery" email. They ID'ed a VIN that was exactly what I wanted LR RWD that was just manufactured and they assigned it to me. Delivery is now set for the first week of December. Confirmed that my online account was updated with the correct build details, but I do not see the VIN that the IDA provided me.

Best advice is to either speak with a local store manager and ask if there are any orphaned vehicles that are close to your desired config -or- speak to whoever your Inside Delivery Advisor is. Best of luck folks!

My LR RWD was delivered yesterday afternoon via home delivery. Build date was 10/18, and the car is beautiful. I’m sure if I look hard enough, then I can find some sort of flaw. Haven’t found one yet though. Hope that everybody in limbo gets it sorted out, as these cars are crazy fun to drive and that range is icing on the cake.

Ordered mid-range,called in to change for "off menu" long range (non AWD) and got confirmed on 10/24
White interior
Sports wheels

I'm stuck on "prepare for delivery" and still haven't received a call from a Delivery Specialist. And it doesn't look like the "Estimated delivery by Nov. '18" might happen with the whole Thanksgiving holiday coming up, and noticing that none of the white interior mid-ranges have been delivered. Anyone else think that this estimate will change to December or January sometime soon..? Or is this estimate accurate and I'm worrying for nothing?

You need to follow up with someone ASAP. To the best of my knowledge, no LR RWD with White interiors have been allowed to proceed. I'm worried that you fell through the cracks and nobody is actively working your order. The number of existing LR RWD vehicles are dwindling fast and I believe the factory isn't making the LR RWD variant any longer.

sadly, I think you might be right @saltsman. I was reading other people's experience (changing from Mid-Range to LR RWD without the white interior) and they've rec'd VIN and delivery dates...dang.

Had same installer in Vancouver, Washington do both our cars. We got our Model S 100D in March and our Model 3 in April. I drove the Model S straight from Tesla to the installer.
Prices are all over the map depending on materials, location & installers.
For more detailed information check out this
thread I posted around March this year on the Model S wrap.

I called tesla in Honolulu on friday to get an update on my blue MR white interior order from 10/19. There was nothing that they could tell me except thats its probably being built. I asked if they had anything else available sooner and they told me they have 1 more LR rear wheel drive on the way thats from a cancelled order. I switched over to it and it showed up in my account the next day. Its the same spec except for black interior and 19" wheels. I would have ordered black interior in the first place if I had known white was going to take longer. I guess its not too much more $ for the LR. I didn't want to wait any longer since Im on the Big Island and shipping from Oahu can be hard to get with late notice.

I wouldn't freak out too much. The white interiors RWD have to be made from the factory. Plenty of folks ordered, and only 1 or 2 got rejected, for unknown reasons. People who were pending LR RWD orders when white interior became an option were able to switch to it. I can't imagine they'd do that if they weren't going to make them, or Tesla wouldn't take the extra money for the interior. I don't think you (or I) have anything to worry about, we just won't take delivery until December, when the white MRs take delivery.

I just got off the phone with someone at Tesla. He double checked with his supervisor while he put me on hold, and it seems the supervisor was aware that prior to the MR annoucement, there was no white interior on the LR RWD, but that upon ordering "off menu" that people asked for this configuration. He said what I'm configured is what I'm going to get, and that they would have reached out to me by now if they couldn't make the particular car.

I'm gonna let it all play out until at least the middle of December (since I'm in So Cal) before I start weighing options. I can always head up to Fremont and take delivery of a vehicle, as I'm planning to be in San Francisco the weekend of the 22nd anyway. I kind of like that others are canceling their white interior orders, that means mine will be more unique, I'll be glad I stayed disciplined and didn't poop my pants and settle, and hopefully I get mine faster than I would have originally before others switched. :D

P.S. My friend's account finally updated with the referral credit, for what that's worth.

Wow. Thanks for that update! I've been reaching out to others with the off menu selection of LR RWD with the white interior, and they also haven't heard from a Delivery Specialist. Here's hoping to receiving an update as soon as production on the white interiors for the Mid-ranges gets started.

Can you please update the forum if you get any sort of update? I'll be sure to do so as well.

I'd like to be wrong, but I've not seen any evidence of a LR RWD with White ever being delivered or even assigned a VIN. I tried multiple times and multiple ways, even escalating up the request. While I had no problem getting it entered into my profile, the factory would cancel it or change it back to black. Keep the backup plan in place and hope for the best!

Right, but others have ordered it and no one except you has encountered any issues. Many MR also have white interior, 1 with a VIN assigned, and no rejection, except you. You're the exception, not the rule, it would seem. I know its unfortunate, not sure why you had that issue, but there's a lot of others that would be left flapping in the wind if they don't make RWD or MR with white interiors.

Also, you do realize that not everyone who buys a Tesla visits this site, or uploads to the tracker, right???? There could be bunches of white interiors with VINs right now, but we might not know about them, unless they come on here and tell us....

Yup same. But that was obvious to me having not received the delivery or vin and being a short week.

You have 6 weeks to get the car and considering they are doing 125k a week every person waiting on a particular config could be handled in less than a week. And with the supposed improved delivery capability even if you are on east coast you probably have 4 weeks safely to have car made.

Nerve wracking for sure but not really worried. When the first week of December comes in two weeks and no word on my config type then I’ll start getting anxious.

I understand where you're coming from @philaKing and IT IS important to stay optimistic... but with Elon tweeting that anyone that orders a Model 3 before November 30th will have it delivered by December 31st (4 weeks from Nov 30) Elon Musk on Twitter
I'm starting to have doubt. I have ALREADY waited 4 weeks...(order confirmed Oct 24) Am I going to wait 4 more weeks...? Sorry if I'm coming across as impatient :/

I think this is a realistic concern, furthermore Elon isn't known for achieving his timelines as he projects.
