I do not understand, these are the same configurations that have been offered to all production buyers.
4 Seats would be dumb. Buy a Model S.
I agree. If you get the back center console for the Model S, it is an official 4 seater.
I saw a thread where someone said that luxury car buyers in China prefer 4 seaters with seats set far back because they're usually driven around by chauffeurs.
Something like this: http://cdn.justluxe.com/articles/images/news/mercedes_gl_vilner_1831935_e.JPG
I can imagine a 4 seat X with falcon wings selling well in such a market.
Slightly off topic, but I was thinking about the 5 seat option (2 rows only). I wonder if the 2nd row seats will be foldable?
My thought was that with the 6 and 7 seat options, you have to be able to move the seats forward to access the 3rd row. You don't need that for a 5 seat option. Hence, maybe the 5 seat option will be a more conventional folding seat configuration.
Just thinking out loud.
The back is much narrower than the middle. It would not be luxurious for two grown men to be squeezed up tight next to each other with the rear hatch glass right above their heads.
