tell me which headlights are better old LED (2018-2020) or updated HD (2021-2022) for model 3/Y


old LED (2018-2020) or updated HD (2021-2022) for model 3/Y are they interchangeable? Is the connection connector the same or different? Will the new headlights fit the old model?

Not interchangeable as its tied into firmware. Old lights are fine, new lights may be brighter but have dark spots in the beam path so its a love hate thing, ie its a wash.

MYLR still has the old style, only the MYP and M3's have the new matrix headlights. I find them to not be a huge difference in performance and honestly like the softer older lights, but being able to spell "TESLA" is pretty cool! It definitely wouldnt play into my buying decision though

Looks like they're different connectors? Looks like the connectors for the older style is

Connector Detail: AMP 1-1670917-1​

and the newer style uses

Connector Detail: DELPHI 35126369​

but they're still 3-pin connectors
