On the previous P85 options, did the P85 come with:

Extended Nappa Leather Trim
Alcantara Headliner
Premium Interior Lighting

Waybackmachine from June includes language such as:
Nappa Leather STANDARD
Nappa leather seats with contrast piping and Alcantara bolsters. Extensive leather throughout. 12-way power adjustable, heated seats.

Nappa leather interior with Alcantara accents and available carbon fiber décor

I don't remember if they were ever explicit about lighting previously.

seems like the lighting is there, just went out to my car and the footwells light up, as well as the sides of the doors inside and out...

my headliner feels like alcantara or similar, but I'm not certain it is, it's different than the loaner 60 kWh model S I had for sure...

extended Nappa Leather Trim, my dash has stitching and looks like the dash in the new options pic, but sure doesn't feel like leather.. very hard...

This was went over sometime in the past. Some fully loaded cars were being shipped without the alcantara headlinder. Tesla was finding that some customers were actually allergic to it. That, plus there were supplier constraints and typically it's not something most buyers notice/some think it's an extra hassle because its another part to condition.

I don't think that's a Perf thing; I have a non-perf 85 and similar lights, with a setting to enable/disable them.

I wonder if the premium lights are additional or better lights, or if new cars going forward really won't have these lights.

heck, my 60 has the same lighting (delivered back in early feb). I think that's something they just pulled out into its own thing that was standard prior.

Confirmed by two Sr. Delivery Specialists, one of whom sits directly behind Jerome Guillen:

New Sound package is unchanged from previous studio sound
Nappa leather trim package includes all door armrests and dash in leather. P85s previously included extended leather to the front door armrests only, so this option adds the rear door and dash leather to what otherwise already comes with the P85.
Pano roof is unchanged except for price.
Lighting package takes what was previously included with the P85 and adds two rear passenger "puddle" lights under the front seats to illuminate the rear passenger floor area.
Air suspension is unchanged except for the new name.

Overall, if you had a P85 in the queue and you weren't dying for the new options (parking sensors, fog lights, cold weather pack), you are better off sticking with your original order. You get more for your money.

My P85+ delivered in late June has the "puddle lights" under the driver and passenger seats to light the rear passenger floor area. I'll have to look about the leather trim. The dash appears to be leather, but I'm not an expert in that area.

Does this mean if we don't get the extended leather package then there wont be leather on the center armrests.

Similar to how BMW and porsche do it, the standard is a black leather/leatherette material that is a lower grade than the Nappa leather on your seats, while the upgraded extended Napa trim puts the upgraded (and same color as your seats) leather on those additional surfaces.

So does that mean if I get the tan leather and dont get the extended nappa leather package then my armrest in the front center will be black and not tan?

I believe that the armrest on the center box is whatever your seat material is. I have the Nappa leather seat option and my armrest is the same black leather as my seats.

I spoke to a Manager today and they pretty much confirmed what you guys mentioned. He mentioned that the lighting also includes a small extra light in the trunk. He didn't think it was worth it but I added it anyway. He said the extended Nappa leather feature is new. I was going to add it as well and NOT select the audio since he confirmed it's not upgraded but I ended up removing the extended leather and going ahead and getting the audio package as planned.

I did get rid of the performance seating as I hated that red piping so that saved some money.

Too many people at Tesla say contradicting things, including high-up people. Sorry, but where someone sits doesn't mean they are accurate, IMHO anyway. ;-)

Apparently there's at least another speaker, which implies there are other changes IMHO. There are conflicting reports out of Tesla, it "sounds" like.

Was this lighting just part of the tech pkg (thus explaining why Tempus and I appear to have it)?

Anyway, thanks for the info! I do wish Tesla were better at educating their own people, so that we hear the same thing from all of them.

I totally agree about the poor education. I've heard different things sometimes within the same day from Tesla people. That is the frustrating thing about much if this. I've said this before but sometimes the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing. Many times I just wish sometimes some staff said "I don't know" vs something they aren't sure.

I talked to a senior staff member today that said the audio was completely the same. No different. Oh well. I guess we have to deal with these growing pains.

I was a bit surprised nobody brought this information flow problem up with Jerome at TESLIVE. Currently the single biggest problem at Tesla right now, IMHO.
