The fix would be to have Tesla show the app even before connecting, let you make your selections, like turn on the heat and then queue the process in the background and maybe send a push notification as soon as the car receives it.

My experience with this seems to indicate it's an app problem, not the car being slow. If I force quit the app and reopen it, the car consistently wakes in roughly 5 seconds. I think the 30-second spin is some issue with the app not reconnecting right from a sleep state.

Can anyone reproduce this experiment so I can tell if I'm imagining it?

Mine will still be super slow to wake even with repeated force quits and relaunches if the app. I do notice that it seems to launch/connect fast when I’m near the car vs not lately which is a little weird IMO

I try to have fun when walking to my car about 15 spaces from the front door at work, by opening the app so I can summon it out of the space, and I never can because the app is still waking up by the time I get there.

Want it fixed? Keep the car in Sentry Mode. It never goes to sleep. The trade off is, of course, battery.

The app is absolutely embarrassing to use, I rarely use it anymore. Typical Tesla putting the car before the horse and throwing away the key.

The app loads way faster now and works just fine for me.

Yup, no more complaints. Sometimes it takes a handful of seconds, but it's so much better than before.

Today from the time I clicked on the Tesla app to having my Model 3 start to back out of the garage using summon was 10 seconds.
That is amazing compared to what it used to be. No more complaints from me!!
