I am not sure whether this has already been discussed. Although, the Model S has significantly less moving parts than a typical car, it does have plenty of electronics that might have problems. Does Tesla plan on having a sophisticated on board diagnostic program which can make reports on the health of its various electronic and mechanical components and send them wirelessly to a Tesla maintenance person? This would be a real boon to people further afield who would want to minimize the number of times they have to pay for ranger service.

Yes. So my Ranger says. Reportedly much of the annual service can be done remotely.

Thanks Doug. How far do you live away from a service center?

I live $564.20 from a service center. Plus tax.

(That's 868 km at Canadian rates of $0.65 per km.)
