One iPhone, two Teslas. Looking for way to avoid switching cars in the app every time I swtich. Any updates?

This forum has been a great resource. This has been asked before, but I'm wondering whether, in 2021, anyone has figured this out:

My family has two Teslas, and we often switch cars.

Every time we switch, we need to go into our iPhone apps and switch cars there too, in order for phone to function as the key for the appropriate car. It seems like there's got to be a better way.

So, has anyone found a way to let the iPhone act as a key for both cars on an account, without having to switch cars in the app each time?

(I'm aware of some workarounds, but I don't have Tesla Solar, and I'm not on Android.)

Alternatively, is there a 3rd party app, a watch app, or some sort of Siri shortcut that makes it easier to switch cars?

I use Watch for Tesla and it does have a “Start the car” shortcut option that you can use.

No. It’s a total first world problem, but annoying. We go through the same gymnastics. Add solar/PW and it’s even worse.

the easiest solution is to get a fob(s).

I use my phone for the X and put a tesla card in my phone case for the 3.

I dont use wireless charging.

Some screenshots have caught a revamped Tesla app that looks like it eliminates this issue.

Again, only rumors at this point, but there seems to be a possibility this will be addressed on the sooner side.

I assume you meant the Y, not the X. The X doesn’t use a phone key (yet).

Just downloaded the app and tried it out.

It works!

I unlocked one car with the phone in my pocket, and then went to the other car and unlocked it without taking out the phone!

Woohoo!
