Yesterday's results from the morning event at Palmer Motorsports Park was in the rain and the median time was less than 7:00 minutes and the winning time was 5:42. Can't you drive a Tesla Model S on a road course in the rain for 7 minutes with the ambient temperature in the upper forties without running into any issues?
depends on how fast the course is? 7 minutes is really pushing it. The rain will probably help since you cant push it too hard and won't hit the limits as quickly. < 4 minutes of autocross is where it really starts losing power, on a big track it drops quick after 1 minute of higher speed.
sounds like a fun set of events. too bad it isn't on this side of the country

this is almost a 5 minute autocross race with just the 100% throttle parts chopped out of it. You can see how power drops off pretty well.

Nope, you probably only would get about 3 minutes based on the nurburgring runs folks have done. Still, its not like the car falls apart then, you're just power limited. You should still be able to post a semi-respecatable time, just don't expect to win.

Our goal was never to win the event overall -- have you taken a look at the competition? But, I believe the Tesla could win the Alternative Fuel class and do very respectively overall. I think people would stand up and take notice of how well the Tesla could do.
