Q3 letter says they are "reducing options," to simplify production. I guess that means more bundling.
I think this is a bad idea. There are some people who don't need dual motors but still want the Performance 85 model. Plus, the gap between the S and the P is now $23,100. That's a dealbreaker for most people.
Well I guess value of used P85 and P85+ cars have just gone up because of the price gap you refer to.
I think I just shed a tear for the loss of the original Sequoia Green. All the more reason why I will never part with my baby, or upgrade to a D!
Green and brown were the next to least and least chosen color, respectively. Our greens are now a collector's item.
Well that just throws a monkey wrench in things for me. I wonder if that means my 85D order won't be available in green.
I have my order in but not confirmed, due to delays with my trade. However, I may need to cancel since it confirms tomorrow.
Well I have been waiting for my green for over a month. They better not have thrown out all the green paint! Hope you are right Andrewket! (and if you are the resale value just jumped for this "rare" model!)
Also just noticed that for the regular rear wheel drive p85 the top speed is now listed at 140mph. I wonder what has changed that lets them get up to 140mph with just the rear motor?
Elon just mentioned on the 2014 Q3 call that they are no longer taking orders for: - P85 - 60D - green or brown colors Maybe one reason they removed green and brown is to make room for future Model X Signature paint color(s)?
Elon said the reason was for production efficiencies. I can't imagine why they'd we stopping production of colors in Q4 2014 to make room for colors they won't be doing until Q3 2015 now. Another point I believe he also said the X would be on it's own body line (which I presume also includes paint).
