Ontario Hydro charging network at 400 highway series rest stops

Very true. Have not traveled yet in Ontario yet with my Tesla, but looking froward to it. As long as Superchargers are by Timmies, Starbucks or Swiss Chalet, I am happy. :)
You will be fine although the first stretch from Detroit to London, ON is a bit underserved. After that there are lots of locations, assuming that you are staying along the major highways.

You will be fine either way but there are far more on the Buffalo route. If you cross the border at Detroit without a full battery pack you will likely want to stop at the Comber charger outside of Windsor as the next one is almost 200km away in London. That should get you to Port Hope - and there is a Supercharger in Port Hope just north of the 401 that is a few hundred yards from a Timmies.

Stopped at the Innisfil (400S) location to check it out. 4 stations (1 not working & bagged up) with CCS & CHAdeMO plugs. One had a Tesla CHAdeMO adapter permanently attached to the plug.

Maxed out at 45 kW, so you’re better to stop at one of the Barrie Superchargers, but (as someone else already said) any charging option is welcome.

$0.30 / minute, so 17min (~50 km) was $5.83.
