I had an Escort 9500ci radar detector installed recently. The tech did not ask me where I wanted it prior to installation. He's done a number of Teslas and I know of at least one other, personally, who had it done exactly this way. The display is perfect, right above the speedometer, however, I'm not sure I'm happy with the location of the control module. On the plus side, if a cop is at the window, it's out of his view. On the minus side - it's obstructed from my view by the Shift lever, and aesthetically, the angle. I don't believe any holes were drilled, so it probably could be moved. Would appreciate your thoughts...
There are a few ideas in a recent thread... Here's my location, which I like a LOT: My Tesla Transformation - Radar and Laser Integration - Page 2 because you can't even see the control module, and it doesn't disrupt the interior dash lines, etc. Can you post a photo of the readout above the speedo?
Will take a pic tomorrow in daylight, then post it. Everything is inside the nosecone except the laser shifters. They are in the grill-work below the nosecone, and blend in very well. Unless you know what you're looking for, you wouldn't notice them.
As promised: Still interested in opinions on the placement of the controller, pictured at the top of the thread. it's starting to grow on me in its current location.
