I got my car back from Dan after Opticoating earlier this week and I'm very happy with the results. Dan has put a great set of photos up online so I won't repost them here. You can see them all at http://www.detailparadise.com.au/showthread.php?12810-Tesla-Model-S-P85-Multicoat-Red.

Just had my car Opti coated by Matt @ Top Notch Car Care. Went with Matt as he comes to you.

Car looks fantastic. There were some scratches when I took delivery and fine swirls throughout the paintwork... the price you pay for a black car I guess. All gone now however.

Matt commented it's one of the softest paints he has come across so hopefully this protects it for a while.

You will find that it makes it really easy to wash. Leave it for about a month to cure fully, though.

So getting wet is ok? (Matt said I can drive it tomorrow), but don't wash it for a month?

I was hoping to drive it on the weekend...

Hmm...my car is booked in for OptiCoat in August, its highly unlikely that it won't rain for a week, does this mean that I should leave it inside for a week?

OK in the rain after a 24 hour cure, but don't wash it and dry it until fully cured.

For those that have had opticote applied to Pearl white, has it made a noticeable difference. It seems to show well on dark colours but hard to tell on white.

I'm happy with Opti-coat. Seems to bring out the pearl essence even more, and as others have commented, nice protection and washing easier.

I ended up getting this self healing coat put on - which has been incredible. Feynlab self heal I think it was called. Drove the car in the storm in Melbourne over the weekend besides being impressed with the cars handling in the wet - was bizarre to see how the water flew from the car.

i got 100% of the car covered - very happy with it. Think the cost will depend on the condition of the car. These guys took every single scratch out of my car.

I'd read Xpel wrap was about $5K US for a full car

It was around $2k AUD. They did say it would be a lot less for a new car - as there is less work to do on it. My car had quite a few scratches on it.
