order hold up by uploading Insurance card

It looks like that my order got stuck:

The next step is to upload insuracne card. It also says that it must have the VIN on the card. However, the VIN has not been assigned yet.

I have been waiting for over a year now.. Do you think that that is the reson that hold the order. What to do?

I uploaded my current Insurance with my current car, just to show I had insurance coverage. Then once I was assigned a VIN, I changed the upload. Not sure it did anything, but I took delivery on 10/26.

So for my Model Y I am on the insurance step but I got my VIN yesterday. I would reach out to your SA and figure out if there is some block on your account getting a VIN, but insurance shouldn't stop it.

Should not be an issue. When I got my Model 3, I waited until I had the VIN.

Hey My SA called and gave me my VIN but I can not see VIN assigned in my Tesla account. I am at page where it asks me to upload insurance, Any suggestions ?
also for ordering home charger I need it to show my car, read somewhere in forums that it will give me more warranty ?

Call you insurance company or agent. Provide them the VIN and ask them to email proof of coverage. If the VIN changes, you can always update the policy.

I didn’t have my insurance added until long after I had a vin. I don’t think they wait for that.

I did try doing this but did find a VIN which was for 2016 Model X which I am guessing for Test Drive or error. I need to order Wall Charger too but need to wait for VIN.

I just got my VIN. SA said I can wait to upload the proof of insurance coverage until I have a delivery date. He said they need it 1 week before delivery to get temporary tags. Didn’t get any impression it would delay Tesla from shipping the car here.

Interesting. Austin SC told me I had to upload the insurance before it could enter Texas. They put pressure on me to get it done in two texts and 2 emails. Seems like they don't really know how the process works.

I thought I was asked to upload my Drivers License (and I did so). Now it appears I was supposed to upload the Insurance Card, but the DL is in that spot. Did I screw that up?

My SA advised that for me, in New York state which requires a VIN on the proof of insurance, that it would not hold anything up by not having it uploaded. Can anyone else confirm this in NY (or any of the other states that require a VIN)?

Just contact your SA, he/she should be able to sort this out for you.
