Hmm, hopefully somehow mine applies my local rate so I don't have to pay for you Seattle guys stuff ;)

Hey, speaking of Seattle, I think you guys have an urban super charger now, or will soon. Do you know how that works if it's in a parking garage that requires paid parking? Can you go in and super charge for 25 minutes or something without paying some crazy parking fee (downtown is what, like $20+ for 6 hours or something?) or is there always a parking fee along with the urban chargers?

Not sure what you mean when you say “urban charger”? We have free L2 charging around (Volta) and a lot of non Tesla CCS chargers popping up all over from Energize America. Even showing up in Walmart parking lots!

Oof, apparently my sales advisor latched on to my account because he just emailed me to congratulate me on my order. He adjusted my delivery date to be Aug 1st or later without me asking (which is awesome because I spoke to him before saying I wanted to make sure I got the credit), but I’m going to be super annoyed if he overrides the online site and sets my delivery location at his or another Seattle are store! I’m going to have to call Tesla a bunch until I can get someone that can confirm if I can have the car shipped to me. I also don’t want to tempt the tax increasing just because he latched on and it converts to a Seattle area sale :p

Edit: It’s worth a little over $600 btw

Hmmmm. I look forward to following your journey to August 1st. Please keep is current!

Urban chargers are the smaller white and red units that aren’t paired and mostly placed by Tesla in shopping areas. NOT L2, but at slower rate than some of the faster kW Superchargers but still SC all the same.

Scroll down a bit to see a photo of what they look like.

Ah, good to know. The only things similar that I’ve seen are the non Tesla EV SC’s from Energize America that have strung up everywhere, including Walmart parking lots.

It’s only been 24 hours and nothing has changed but I’m getting more excited. It’s going to be a long rest of the month!

I’m also excited to tell my local (horrible) Chevy dealer why I’m returning my Volt lease instead of buying it at the end or getting a new Chevy when I turn it in. They literally laughed at me when I was signing the paperwork on the lease because I said a three year lease should be plenty and then I’ll be switching to a Tesla Model 3. They said that likely wouldn’t be happening based on Tesla’s history but I would have the opportunity to switch into a Bolt if I still wanted all electric by then. It’s absolutely true that they did this in front of me, I don’t think they specifically were trying to be mean or act like an ass, but were more jovial with the laughing thinking I had told a joke.

I’ll love to see the look on their faces now, the a-holes. They wouldn’t even cut me a deal last month when I asked if they had any Bolts at a good price in anticipation of turning in my lease. Best one was like $38k before tax for a BASE model Bolt with DC charging. Wouldn’t budge at all on price and flatly told me they weren’t about to entertain losing money on it. Alright, ya, sure... you let that sit on your lot for another year.

Thank you Tesla!

Yes, I would say those Chevy @$$ holes did you and Tesla a favor!

Those of you interested in, or who recently ordered, an LR RWD may want to check the current posts in that "waiting room" thread. There are now reports that this configuration is no longer an "off menu" offering (as a few days ago). Not sure if fact or fiction, but you might want to check.

That could match what I heard from a sales advisor at a Bellevue store on Wednesday. Last weekend I was messaging a Tesla employee (off the record) online and they said it was still active. So sometime between last Sat/Sun and last Wednesday it could have been removed...

I also read that it's still orderable if you work directly with Freemont. Did your SA give you a feel for when the next batch of LR RWDs would be run down the line? If they effectively cut the "off menu" ordering from SCs, it might take longer for them to get a large enough batch to run down the line.

I didn’t explore too much since I knew it was over the limit for the WA tax credit. I also was calling a different location to ask about delivery options (since my SA was telling me the only option was driving over to pick it up). So I basically off hand just asked if the LR RWD model was still an off menu option and the guy just said “nope, that’s been completely removed.” So I didn’t follow up with anything else.

Still super curious if I’ll be able to get the vehicle shipped to me...

At least you are going to get the LR... Suggestion: Open a chat discussion with Tesla via the Tesla web site (re your home delivery and taxation questions). I've read that is the best way to get answers which are solid. you may have to wait 10 or more minutes for the chat session to connect, however. Again, just a suggestion...

I’m actually just getting the SR+. ABetterRoutePlanner makes it look totally doable even with extreme temperatures so I think I’ll be fine. I just WANTED the LR :p

I actually chatted online and the guy didn’t know anything about delivery and suggested I call a number which was “delivery specialists”, I called and went like 6 levels deep into a Tesla phone option tree and it said it would connect me to my local store, which was a Seattle area store... so that didn’t help much. I figure once they actually reach out to schedule the delivery I’ll tell them I want it shipped to my home and then point them to the Tesla web site FAQ that said anyone living more than 160 miles from a service center had the option for 3rd party courier to the door.

Oh, also. I happened to get a call from my Chevy dealer while I was at the store shopping. They “had customers” asking for Volts recently and so the dealer was reaching out to customers that had a lease coming due seeing if we wanted them appraised and they might be able to buy them for above residual value. Well no way was I going to drive over there and try to get sold a new Chevy, so I told them I needed a ballpark number over the phone based on my mileage and great condition before I even thought about coming over. I also said I had a model 3 order placed and was NOT interested in a new Chevy, but would be willing to end the lease right away and sell to this local dealer if it was worth it to me by a few thousand. (Apparently just handing in a lease the cars go off to corporate before being offered up to dealers). So of course that info had to go to some sales manager who called me back and explained how the car could be worth more than the residual because of low miles and when could I come over blah blah blah. Had to explain again that I didn’t want a new Chevy and wasn’t coming over unless they could prove it was worth my time. He said he would have to chat with his used car manager guy and would call me back. Well when he called back he said “nope, my used car guy doesn’t have any interest in offering you above residual” — of course! This was all a sales ploy to get me over there sitting in new Chevy’s and then pressuring me to buy one because they can offer a “great deal” since I’m turning in my lease. I’m soooo glad I didn’t waste an hour of my time over there and traffic to get there. They literally just re-enforced my previous comment on how crap they are! Lol

Ah, good to know that the chat option was not that great, as I had read was in other places... Sorry about the bad referral!
