Hi ChunLi,

Do you have a Tesla.com account?
This is where the updates go and you can check on it with your computer often.

My confirmation came this morning and the VIN was with it.
Still no delivery date for me.

From what others have told me, it seems like they are grouping orders for a continuous run of Model X.
A friend said his friend reserved back in December and was still told March...

I am hoping for March or early April.

Congrats on getting your VIN. Yes. I do have a Tesla account and it still has only the RN number. Ugh! I’m definitely contacting my DS on Monday!

You might try to ask your OA (Owner Advisor) what is going on...
There seems to be a disconnect between your account and your car.
He or she is responsible for getting the order set up properly.

Where can you find out who your OA is?

If you worked with a person at a Tesla Gallery to create and submit your design that would be your OA.
If you did it all over the internet you may not officially have one.

I could not find one listed on my Tesla account, I got emails from the OA that worked with me at a Gallery.

My current account shows the name and email of my Delivery Specialist (DS).

It looks like ChunLi will be contacting her DS tomorrow.
He or she should be able to figure out why the car still shows as a reservation rather than an order.

I am making an assumption that the $2500 was paid and cleared to hold the design/order.

I do have a Tesla.com account and sadly I don’t have a VIN assigned yet. I’m still stuck in the RN stage

I do have an OA since I actually test drove car before finalizing my decision between MS and MX. Good suggestion to speak with him too. He’ll be getting a text and my DS will get email. Like I said, my DS was actually quick to respond when I emailed him/her last time and said my delivery was still estimated to be mid March. My guess is there will a push for deliveries made by EOQ1. If you go to custom build car now, it states a “late March” delivery estimate. I just want the VIN so I can start shopping insurance.

Yeah that’s kind of what I was thinking. I don’t think I’ve seen anyone who ordered in the end of December/January getting a VIN yet.

Wow. That’s a huge lag. What was the estimated delivery date that you received when you ordered?

So I actually just got an answer from my OA...he called about an hour after I sent an email to him and DS...this is what I so like about him! He said my car is still scheduled for mid March delivery and VINs aren’t assigned until post production. He suggested that perhaps those who have received a VIN but ordered after me (and rjyoungmd) got VINs because there were cars in inventory already that matched specs. Who knows? But I hope he’s right about my timeline still holding true!

I do have a contact for my DS and reached out to him over the weekend but I got an automated reply saying that he’s out of the office until Wednesday. I’ll update when I hear more...

The website said February delivery when I placed my order. And right now my DS told me the car will be produced in the last week of Feb. I guess Tesla is having a refresh recently and we might have the newest version. Besides, anyone have an idea about the production time?

I finally heard back from my OA. Sounds like my car is scheduled for production on March 12 with delivery 2 weeks later. They said that my VIN should be assigned near the end of the month. Still seems arbitrary to me on the timeline. I don't exactly know what exactly pushed someones order though the process faster than another. It certainly doesn't seem like it is based on time ordered
