And, missing front Tesla emblem...

So I am returning it!
What do you guys think - should I keep it?

UPDATE: The SC called and scheduled delivery for 9/14/18. So roughly 2 months from order to delivery for me.

I was at the mall this evening and decided to stop by the Tesla showroom... And low and behold I have a VIN and the vehicle is in Oakland waiting to be shipped to Honolulu.

My Tesla account doesn't show a VIN. The only change recently is it says "Prepare for delivery" under the image of the vehicle.

Ordered: 7/13
Modified order: 7/17
In transit: 8/27

I was told expect a call in roughly two weeks to arrange pick up.

It is missing at home delivery..they will replace right away.

Had to call Tesla at 888-518-3752 today since no info after 8/14 order.

Got a VIN assigned and estimate delivery date 19 Sep. Pick up in Las Vegas SC.

5 weeks from order to delivery.

It's faster to narrow down the VIN by searching 5YJX - the first 4 characters of Tesla Model X VINs.

I ordered my Tesla model 3 long range in metallic with black interior on August 20, 2019. Received vin today and will pick it up here in Denver this Wednesday the 11th. So exactly 4 weeks from order to delivery for me.

Anybody can pick up from a different state and register at state of residence.

But why, you might ask.

Because one can be exempt from sales tax if a military member (Washington State resident), while stationed outside Wa buys a vehicle out of Wa State - which is about $7K for a $90K Model X

Interesting. So you can pick up in CA, but have to pay CA sales tax. When I picked up my X last year, it was in NJ and I shipped it to CA since NJ has no sales tax for EV vehicles. Wonder if I can pick up in NV and reg in NJ.

Yup, I am NOT picking up or registering in CA. Tesla will register in NJ if you have an address there. They reassured me, they do registration other than the delivery state - all the time, when I called to explain what I want to do.

I have bought an SUV in TX (2015), a car in NV (2018) - exempt from sales tax, and registered in WA.
