hey all, im really new to the Tesla family. actually im in the holding pattern of car has been ordered and the basics inputted into the Tesla site like drivers lic info, initial deposit, payment type etc. So I placed my order on Friday 10/19 once I saw the new midrange model offered and today I hear new orders will get the 6 months free supercharging? I plan on charging at home most of the time but free supercharging would be nice for the occasion I may need it. So is this automatically added to any order or since its offered do you have to nudge your sales person when the calls start on financing, delivery and the dreaded vin assignment to get this? Thanks for any info. Doug, who is totally confused for now.
You need a referral code... which your sales person should have been sure you had in the first place to get the old $100 supercharging credit. I assume you didn’t have one? If you did that will/should get you the new 6 months free supercharging.
Call your local sales team and tell them you’d like to add a referral code to your order. They can do it over the phone for you. ... and you need a code, PM me if you’d like to use mine!
I am in a similar position with an order on 10/13. Messaged my local sales person and got this in return. "I will submit a case for it although it might not get approved. They recently switched up the referral process and so I will do my best to try to push it through although it is not a guarantee." Crossing my fingers now.
Thanks for the replies everyone. I emailed Tesla tonight and asked if i can get it added to my order, i did read on another thread that those referral codes can sometimes only be added up to 48 hours after you order. If they ask for a code, i'll pm you Drax since you were the first to offer it. thank you btw. Its not a deal breaker for me since i dont have a supercharger near my work and my daily commute is around 60 miles both ways so home charging is the place all the magic will happen. The closest supercharger is behind a red robin in west hartford CT and there are a ton of cars there all the time, not looking forward to that wait ... ;> thanks all. .
You'll be grandfathered back to Sept 19th iirc. It's just "free" supercharging for 6 months. Probably a more accurate descriptor would be "included" supercharging. There's nothing free about owning a Tesla or any other new car for that matter. Speaking of which, has there been a clarification concerning the ESA for Model 3s? As in is there going to be one, and if so, whether we'll be required to pay the same $200/visit and for every one of the +12,000 mile services along the way as is the case today with the S/X?
