Other cars swerving in visualization

Hey everyone! Long-time reader, first-time poster here.

It bugs me that other cars being rendered in the visualization swerve as they pass me or I pass them, and I'm curious if that's normal or if it might be a sign that the side sonar sensors aren't calibrated correctly. Up until now I've just taken it for granted that that's just how it is, but I'm not finding any threads talking about it so I'm starting to wonder.

In case this isn't something everyone's familiar with: Say I'm stopped at a left turn and a car is coming up behind me in the next lane to the right. On the screen I can see it approaching in the middle of its lane, then as it passes it violently swerves away several feet, then once past me it goes back. Makes me wonder if those side sensors are off, or if it's just a software/rendering bug that everyone has. If the latter, I guess they might patch it eventually, but if the former, that seems like a problem for autopilot...
