Other Owners in Wyoming?

One of the top questions I get is if I'm the only Tesla owner in Wyoming. I'm pretty sure I'm the only Tesla owner for a 100 miles of Riverton. I think there are at least 3 more owners in state. Is there a report from Tesla that list sales per state?

Search that forum for "Wyoming" and there are a lot of hits (many talking about superchargers, but some owner threads).

I saw a Tesla in Yellowstone last month, but it had plates from... CA (of course).

My wife was in Wyoming a couple of days ago...but we're from Washington.

We were there almost a year ago, too. In a grocery store parking lot in Cheyenne, a woman approached us to tell us how excited she was to see her first Tesla. She knew about them from her brother, who was so excited about Tesla that he made her and some family members visit the Cheyenne Supercharger, because they didn't know where to go to see a car so just looking at vacant chargers was the best they could do.

So, yeah, there might not be a lot of Teslas around. I hope that changes.

I live near Sheridan. There are 4 Model S seen regularly around Sheridan, and I hear that another has been ordered.
I know a Model S owner in Casper. I have heard though don't know personally, that there are Model S owners in Cody, Jackson, and Cheyenne.
When I ordered my car in April 2013, I asked the Tesla rep on the phone if my car would be the first in Wyoming. He said, well you'll be in the first 10!
He said he thought the first one went to Cody. Haven't been able to verify that. There were definitely others in the state before mine.

That's about what I was thinking, sounds like all the Wyoming Tesla owners might be able to fix in a one Model X. Most of the posts are people trying to make it across Wyoming with any Super Charger in center.

Imherkimer, how are you charging and I wonder how the owner in Cody is charging, From Riverton to Billing, MT via Cody would be the shortest route. EV trip planner says I can make the 244.0 miles, adding a few more miles of Cody would be nice to play it save.

When not charging at home, and in places with no other charging options, I use RV parks.
Have several times used the Fountain of Youth RV park in Thermopolis, because they let us soak in the Hot Springs while charging at no extra cost (Cost to charge $20 + taxes.)
The owner also has a decent hotel in town and will include charge and hot spring soak with overnight stay.
Supercharger is now in Sheridan and Billings and HPWC's are available in Buffalo, Casper, and Gillette hotels.
Not sure about Cody beyond RV parks. Usually have had a good reception at RV parks. It helps to call ahead.
Going from Riverton to Billings, I suspect Thermopolis is a better option for top-up than Cody.

A lot if you drive the speed limit! If you drive 80 MPH you might get half of your rated range. If you really want to make it anywhere over 200 miles (like the distance from any wyoming city) you need to drive around 55 MPH to 60 MPH depending on the hills and wind. You get to know the RV Parks really well. I tried like crazy for 2 years to get places to work with Tesla on Destination and/or Supercharger stations. Most didn't wanted to pay the electricity chargers. That's why I'm putting in 80 amp chargers to fill in some gaps that Tesla isn't showing plans to put it. They take a credit card to cover the hosts and my costs. If you know of any locations interested in hosting chargers let me know.

I would like run one in Riverton, we should have around 8 chargers up and running in the area by then. I've got 2 EV's and 3 hybrids at work. Our College said they would let me use there parking lot. I know there are a few Volts around town. Maybe a few people from Jackson Tesla and leaf owners might drive down. I have a charger going in Dubois next week.

I am excited to see this Wyoming thread at the top of the list as an active topic.

I am from Toronto Canada and expec to visit Wyoming to photograph an outdoor/adventure event in August. The event is based in Casper but would likely station me miles away from formal EV chargers.

PlugShare shows that I'd be in good shape coming from the north, east or south east. West of Casper looks like a challenge and travelling from the south could be a non-starter.

What is the landscape like for non-formal charge options like RV campgrounds?

Sorry, I didn't mean to be snarky, but to answer your question fully I would just consult PlugShare. But since I don't know all of your particulars I really couldn't give you a comprehensive answer. You asked about RV parks and campgrounds and, yes there are many, and they are all listed on PlugShare.

I signed up to host an event today, I'll try and pin down a location and exact time to do a ride and drive event. I think both Wind River Casino and Central Wyoming College would be open hosting the event.

I don't know all of your particulars I really couldn't give you a comprehensive answer. You asked about RV parks and campgrounds and, yes there are many, and they are all listed on PlugShare.

Actually, that right there was rather helpful.

I've found relatively few campgrounds listed on PlugShare compared to total number available. That makes sense since it isn't their primary market. So, a PlugShare listing means the campground owner is an EV enthusiast, or an EV owner stopped by. Meanwhile, there are a dozen RV parks down the street that are not listed on PlugShare.

Judging by PlugShare, Wyoming looks sparse in the campground department. I was wondering if there were many other RV parks that just haven't been PlugShare'd. If you are saying all RV parks have been listed, I know not to count on random campgrounds in between.
