In 2017, I bought a new 2018 Mercedes S63. When I went to pick it up, I asked for the vehicle to be put on the lift to inspect underneath. Within 2 seconds I noticed this big hole in the front bumper, not visible from ground level. If I would not of asked for the lift, they probably would have said, sorry not our fault. Needless to say, I took the vehicle and waited for a new bumper. several months later, I get a call, the bumper is in and painted ready to put on. I deliver the vehicle, get a loaner and that night I get a call that the bumper doesn't fit. Actually, the bumper was missing the internal brackets that hold the sensors. Five bumpers later, same problem, I asked for a new car. Since this was the first year of this model, none available. I wrote an email to Mercedes in Germany and within a week I had a new vehicle. Long story short, the 2018 S63 had a transmission software problem that caused jerking and Mercedes bought the vehicle back. However, I lost $17,000 in the deal. The Mercedes was more than twice the price of the Tesla I now have and I enjoy it more than any of the Mercedes I ever owned. The Mercedes had a few AP features the Tesla doesn't have yet, but all in all a much better Tesla AP and the Tesla would definitely out run the S63. I guess my point is never give up till you are satisfied. Then enjoy the car. Saturday at the Southlake, TX 9-12 the Tesla Club is meeting at the Super Charger area in Southlake Town Sq. for morning get together if interested.

Wow, sounds like a rough experience. I'm surprised that they told you what the 70 point inspection is. Can you upload that information so we all know what they are supposed to check for during the used car process? I can't imagine how all these problems affected your mentality after spending all this money on a car, sight unseen. If I were you I would have probably thrown up when I got home. I'm in the process now of getting a used model S, and I will admit, I'm stretching my budget to get it done. If I had those issues, I'd have some serious buyers remorse.

When you guys are taking delivery of your used Tesla’s, are they turning them over with a full charge? If I get a full charge in an 85kwh battery what mileage should I consider unacceptable?

Yes. I do have buyers remorse especially after spending $55k on a car I didn't really need. My old 2016 GTI is running great and so fun to drive but the wife said I should treat myself since I've always wanted a Tesla and she said I needed a "grown up" car.

The CPO agent got back to me and they have approved a tire replacement - just the one tire though. Isn't it best to replace them in pairs? Should at least allow me to drive the car until the new wheels arrive. The turn signal will also be fixed. They are waiting on a part for the brake pedal and will send a mobile tech to fix that. No word on the warped slash shield but you can't see it under the car and it seems to serve it's purpose so I'm probably going to have to live with that. Unfortunately service center appointments at my local place are 6 weeks out! Ridiculous. I could take my VW in today if I wanted to and they'd take care of it on the spot...

I wouldn't stress too much about it because the battery will lose 5-8 miles fo range/day just sitting. My "fully charged" S 85 was showing 254 miles when I picked it up (showed 256 miles in pics). The first time I charged to 100% it showed 261 miles, and then after running it down to 7% and up to 100% it shows 262.

All that said, I would want to sit and watch the battery getting topped off if it wasn't showing in the 250's when I picked it up.

Please tell me you complained about that and they are going to get you a second fob? The amount of money we are buying these cars for we SHOULD get two fobs.

To add to my misery - I took the car to get it tinted today. I asked for Airblue 80 on the front windshield. When I went to pick it up she goes "Oh you should probably get those windshield chips fixed sooner than later". I was like "WTF?". I hadn't told her it was a CPO vehicle and shouldn't have any significant chips. Indeed there are 7 (yes SEVEN) chips on the windshield, mostly on the passenger side that I didn't even notice - I saw a couple and thought they were dirt. Looked at my CPO checklist which showed "less than 3 windshield chips" is marked as being OK. The CPO process by Tesla is a complete sham. They don't look at anything. Literally they just turn it on and see if the car moves.

I am uploading images to this Google album including the CPO checklist I managed to obtain.

Jeez... I'm really gambling with this used Tesla program. Some great outcomes and some horrible stories.

I almost went with a CPO Tesla, but was worried about the pay before buying concept. I went with new and very satisfied. In the past I have purchased two CPO Mercedes SL's and both were better than new. Wish I had one of them back. Any recourse of a buy back by Tesla?

I just picked up this beautiful P100D! It's exceeded all of my expectations, especially in looks and performance. Very, very happy with my new car. :) IMG_1171.jpg IMG_1185.jpg

Is that the 70 point inspection sheet? Did you have to ask for this sheet, or they provided it when you picked up the car? Hope you get the windshield taken care of.

I had to ask. Actually insist. I basically said that every other car company gives you this checklist and a full service history for a CPO vehicle. They got me the checklist but not the service history.

I am told they will replace the windshield but they haven't said if they'll reimburse me for the tint. Obviously I would not have tinted it if I'd known about the chips. I have to say the CPO advisor has actually been very good in getting back to me and profusely apologized for all the issues I'm having. It really wasn't her fault that the inspection was done poorly. God knows how soon I can get everything fixed. The earliest service appointment is at the end of next month. I am pushing to have it done sooner.

At least your sales adviser is good at getting back to you. My adviser, John Pierre, doesnt answer his phone or reply to emails. So annoying. If I do have issues, I know its going to be a nightmare trying to get him to do anything.

Just picked up a new Inventory Model S car.
Having gone through the new delivery process 3 times previously, all I can say is that the emphasis on employee cuts/salary reduction shows.
Car had the wrong wheels, no spoiler, one key fob (covered with velcro).
The "Specialist" who showed me the car had been working for Tesla less than 2 weeks.
Arrived at 10:45 AM. Drove the car off the lot at 5:30 PM. Even though I had complied with every request days before, they had to wait for something (From US Bank?) to be faxed over. Felt like Amateur Hour.
Love the car as always. Considered a Porsche, considered a 2015 CPO Model S.
Happy for my choice, but if I was a first time buyer, I would be concerned about the Brand.

Mine only came with one and during delivery I casually asked them for another and the girl showing us the features in the car said “Sure no problem we will do a service ticket for it”. I booked service a few days later and mentioned the fob and they didn’t have a ticket. I called back the delivery center and mentioned it and they added the ticket to my account in 1 minute while I was on the phone, easy and pleasant.

    I am just finishing
I am on the second month of a 3 year lease on my 2019 S75D with the $2 grand FSD upgrade. I love the idea of pulling into the garage and charging, bypassing going to the gas station, but after this morning on AP I am beginning to think that I should of gone with the Mercedes S560 with HUD, Night view assist, Nav and superior customer service centers. Yesterday, AP worked very well, today I had to take over three times. Hopefully, things will improve rapidly, as I want Tesla to do well. Using software 2019.8.3, is not much better than the previous program. My last Mercedes 2018, the nav system would read speed limit signs and slow to the speed posted even in a construction zone. it would slow for school zones and when making a 90 turn with the turn signal on it would slow to 10-15 mph and make the turn. The HUD would show everything and kept your head out of the cockpit. Google. Waze and Apple could be connected and would show up on the HUD. It would slow to posted speed for a round about and few others I can't remember. I have three years, I hope Tesla is leading the industry and that I am able to move into a new 2023 Tesla.
