Gorgeous! And great write-up. But it doesn't help my wait seem any shorter!
Thanks! Sorry I can't do any more to help reduce the wait.

@Dave... Nice post.
What color is yours? Can't tell if its blue, or green, but leaning to the blue?
What config did you finally end ip with? I remember you talking about a 60 kWh pack, but your delivery date insinuates you went with an 85kWh model. Did you get the tech pack, sound stage, etc?

Looks gorgeous in its setting, btw.
Thanks Greg. Mine is the Green. I did indeed upgrade to the 85kWh pack. I also got the Tech and Sound Studio packages along with Active Air Suspension. The only thing I didn't get was the sunroof (I've never been a sunroof person).

Here is my owner's story (it's a LONG one, so I'll try not to be boring ;-) ). Hopefully this will satiate some of the hunger for more of these posts. :)

If you've read this far, thanks for sticking with me! Here are a few pictures to top off my post. Enjoy. :)

Thanks for this really nice story + pictures.
Every new owner has his own impressions and as future owners it is VERY nice to read them.
Thanks for taking the time!

I read quite a bit of beautiful delivery stories in this thread with nice pictures and all and was hoping I have the similar experience when my MS is delivered. Well, after some frustrating experience with my inexperienced MS which I don't even want to mention here, my MS in in transit. My driver called me last Friday saying he should arrive Tuesday afternoon. Great news. Then on Sunday, he called again saying he will be here by 8-9pm, and of course this is the Superbowl night but I didn't have much choice but to accept. It was a cold and dark night in NC and the driver didn't want to spend time with me to walk-thru inspecting scratches and stuff. There is no DS presence, of course. This is NC not CA right? He said this is his 5th delivery and his last delivery is in DC and he couldn't wait to get on the road with his partner. I reluctantly let him go. There is no paperwork and no temp. plate. BIG MISS, Tesla and Delivery Specialist!!! I called them the next morning and they said they will send in immediately. So I have my MS in my garage but couldn't drive. One positive thing about this is I have some time to learn about the car, features, GUI and run down my checklist. Now that I am done doing it and still waiting for the plate and paperwork. VERY DISCOURAGED. I am a Tesla stockholder myself and have every reason to see them succeed. They need to revisit the logistic/delivery team because the production ramp is in the hundreds a week now and I read from the Tesla forum that there are many deliveries with the MS arrived but no temp plates and paperwork. Very concerned. At any rate, hope I can drive my MS soon and report my driving and ownership experiences. STILL WAITING after 2 years of waiting!!!

In Arizona we can go to the DMV website and print out a 3 day temp permit for I think $2. Have you checked with your DMV?

I received the paperwork and CA temp plate now and the DS even called me this morning to check if I am good or not. She realized they missed this one and said they are learning from it. I test drove my MS today and start to enjoy again after all these hassle. There are other MS reservations reported they lost cars, cars being sent to other states, etc. It's a logistics nightmare for Tesla. I consider I'm fortunate that I receive the right car.

Picked up VIN 4375 at the factory and drove it back down to LA with a few friends yesterday. The tour was great and it's an awesome car that actually lives up to the hype. I made one of my friends sick with the stomach-churning acceleration, so I had to take it easy - but man is it fun to accelerate so effortlessly, like driving a rollercoaster.

I hit all 3 superchargers on the way back because I was concerned that there might be a line at the sole Harris Ranch charger, and wanted to be able to skip it if I needed to. I didn't have to worry because I didn't see a single other Model S at Gilroy, Harris, or Tejon. Supercharging is awesome, just sitting in the car, you can watch the miles slowly count up. It's definitely longer than filling up a tank of gas, but it was kind of nice to be able to eat a leisurely meal knowing there's no rush getting back on the road again. If Tesla can really cover the country with these in the next few years, man, will that be fun.

There was no range anxiety, maybe a little range concern as I approached Tejon with 25 miles, but I didn't alter my driving habits at all. It's so fun to just hit the pedal and gooooo. The elevation climb through the Grapevine was the best. I would have the pedal to the floor on my old car and it would be groaning at 50 mph uphill, but it was like nothing for my S. I was whizzing by trucks and had to slow down below 70 just because I was passing all the other cars so fast. Of course, they all passed me later as I was collecting regen downhill.

The iPhone app is awesome as well. Great for checking your charge while you're hanging out at a restaurant waiting, and good for peace of mind to be able to see that I didn't accidentally leave the car unlocked. Will be great as they add more features.

Grey looks great! I was soooo close to going with grey. Every time I see a post of another new car, I second guess my choice of black. But pretty sure I'll be ok with it when it arrives...

We saw a black one at the factory and my friend liked it the best, I honestly think you can't go wrong with any color.

I do the exact same thing! That grey color is really gorgeous, I think it's the most beautiful Model S color, hands down, no contest.
I, however, went with the blue...For me, the interior color was more important, and the only color I liked I was the grey leather...And I don't just like it, I LOVE it, especially with the matte Obeche, it is so Zen. And, I just couldn't bring myself to get a car that was grey inside and out...And I really like the blue exterior/grey interior combination, so I don't really regret my decision...But man, I can really appreciate the beauty of the grey exterior.

You guys are killing me, I have to keep reassuring myself about color combinations every time I see another awesome grey car. White with black leather, stay strong.

That's funny, I was also pretty set on the grey interior and almost went with the blue exterior. I think blue is the most striking but was a little concerned about my ability to keep a dark car clean. I also think the car stands out enough on its own, so didn't mind that grey/grey might be a little more subdued.
