My guess is that it's the safest policy to avoid confusion between different models. No harm in telling a 60 owner to charge to 90% regularly but possibly a problem if they mistakenly tell a 75 owner it's OK to charge to 100% normally.

I was going to post this exact same thing... They are just trying to simplify the message vs. telling 75 owners to only charge to 80% and 60 owners to 100%

Chopr got a 60 built with a 75 battery.

I wouldn't charge to 100% even if it were "ok" unless the car is leased. If you plan to travel, you can go 100% prior to the trip, IMO.

A 75D has a 75 kWh battery so definitely avoid 100% range charging, however those with 60 kWh made with a 75 battery might be "more ok" to charge it higher. But no official tech bulletin exists, that I know of. Would be nice to get treatment guidance from TM engineers or even their guy Jeff Dahn. Check with your Tesla store guys and actually talk about the differences between range charging and "treating the battery well" with 85% daily charging and why that is good.

Plus, get used to never using the word "engine" again. It has two traction motors and a big battery. The battery is what is charged (like a fuel tank) and the motors get the power from that. There are other motors too (window motors, blower motors for HVAC and so on).

So disappointed right now. It's been a few days of highs and lows and I just wanted to vent to see if anyone else had delivery issues like this.

I was supposed to get my Tesla on Monday, called DS who said it's already in so I got it moved to Saturday. However, there was some damage to the front passenger side bumper during transportation so he said I could either wait for two weeks for a new bumper or pick up on Saturday and bring back. I of course chose to pick it up Saturday and then bring it back in two weeks to get the new bumper installed.

Now I just got a call that first, they don't have replacement bumpers since it's the new bumper, so I have to settle for them to just repair the current one (this didn't concern me too much as I just picked the 2 year lease). Second, they didn't wait on my confirmation and started work already so I can only pick up Tuesday next week :(

I'm reading so many cases of damage during transportation, is this normal?

I complained about the train method when I heard it was coming via train instead of truck. Now I am glad it did as I have heard it is the safer method and negates some of these instances.

I am sorry to hear that for you and yes there are multiple people who have had truck transport issues.

The tints look great with that color! I'm getting tints when I get around to it. Too busy enjoying this car :)

Thanks! The tint came out really nice. Took them about 4-5 hours to complete the tint portion.

Vinyl delete or sprayed? Looks fantastic and thinking of doing the same

Thanks Cnasty! It is mostly Vinyl, but on the letters and other small spaces they did a spray or plastic dip not sure which one.

The vinyl is coming up on some of the moving parts. I think a new guy installed it as they told me car would be ready at 1pm and it wasn't completed until 7:30pm. So I will be having them correct some small spots, but overall I think it really adds to the car. Wish Tesla would offer a body color match or something.

Delivery Experience:

Arrived 10 minutes late due to traffic. While in the lobby I got a call from Tesla: "We show your appointment at 2:00 p.m. so we are wondering if you are on your way?" Me: "No, but I'm in the lobby!"

Walked into the delivery area and was asked what my first impression was. Answer: Stunning, the future, beautiful, etc.

Took care of a few pieces of paperwork. I'll admit I didn't scour the paperwork like I would with another dealer because of Tesla's reputation of good customer service. My wife had to ask how we deal with our trade in, and it seemed news to the D.O.S (Delivery Orientation Specialist). He went and got a few more pieces of paper and we handed over the keys.

He said "I know you're ready to take this car on the road so ill show you a few things and let you get out of here" I was a little disappointed in that because my wife who was with me isn't as Tesla educated as I am. I looked forward to the professional orientation. He went over some things in detail and some things he would sort of skim over and say "So, Ill let you play around with that more later". My wife had to ask a few questions that he skipped over. No big deal but I had a different expectation.

After a short walk through of the features "Here's the trunk, the charging cables, the frunk. Here's how you adjust your seat...then all (most) the center screen features. "Any questions? I know you're ready to get out of here!"

Actual issues:
1. I noticed the rear driver's side passenger seat had 2 very small cuts in the leather cushion. They are very tiny but I told the DOS I wanted them documented incase they spread. I'm sure cuts in seats wouldn't be a normal warranty item as it could be caused by the owner after delivery.
2. Frunk Lid/Hood rubs on the right front fender during open/close. Paint had been chipped off the corner already and was easy to see. The hood lines on the left side are very misaligned as noticed by the gap changing from about 1/4 inch by the windshield to nearly touching by the front bumper.
Minor annoyance:
1. As I approached the vehicle from about 20 feet away I could see dried wax all over the door panels. I asked for a microfiber rag and they buffed off very easily but it was a bad first impression on the quality of work done by "The detail team". Some cracks and crevices and green wax build up that had been wiped away. Looked like the turtle wax paste I have at home.
2. My D.S. who I had been in contact with me told me the delivery experience is very personal and includes a short test drive to make sure we are comfortable with auto pilot and all the other features. I was looking forward to this. I'm sure I could have asked for it but every 5-10 minutes the DOS would again say "Well unless you have something else I'll let you get going" or something along those lines. I think it was a professional way for them to say they have other matters to attend to. I understood and felt my gee wiz type questions wouldn't be a good use of their time. My DS did come out during the orientation to say Hi, apologize for my wait (I think 67 days from initial order-deliver), and congratulate me.

Tesla Swag:
1. I've been trying to get an owner's hat since I ordered. Tesla in La Jolla, CA was out when I ordered, and out when I went back the next weekend. I had an unjustified expectation to get a little something during delivery. After the DOS wished me the best and told me to politely hit the road for the 4th time or so I asked if there's anyway I can walk out with an owners hat or something. I told him I've tried to get once since I ordered. He went back to the office and came back empty handed, but then reached under the desk that we used to sign all the paperwork and said "but you do get one of these." It was the black Tesla swag bag complete with umbrella, pin, and coffee cup. I was excited and told him thank you very much. It was exciting to get a token of appreciation I didn't really deserve. I did have a little thought of "I wonder if he would have given that to me if I hadn't asked?"

Tesla App/Summon/Auto Park: Tesla app used within 1 hr. Summon used within 1 hour. Auto parked first used 1 day after delivery and worked.

//The_End.

Congratulations and good luck!
Sorry to hear about the alignment issues. I don't get it. While I'm sure many deliveries go off w/o a hitch the alignment issues continue. Is anyone inspecting these cars? The Tesla is the 7th new car I have purchased in my lifetime, the most expensive one and the only one with an alignment issue. Mine was a fender off by about 3/4 of an inch that I didn't notice until day 2. I also had wax marks and wiped the car down when I got home. A detailer who used to work for Tesla told me they do a horrible job of delivery prep and he spends hours on a car reversing the mess before he can Xpel. My DS was also quick with the orientation but I was OK with that. I also received my swag "after" asking about it.
Despite all this I absolutely love this car and am a fandom of Tesla. They do need to tighten up the details though.
Have fun driving !! :)
