Are you referring to the Highland Park shin-dig a week or so ago? Was that supposed to be a monthly thing? I doubt it. I was out of town so didn't attend either. But that was the first "social" event for local owners I've seen (I took delivery at the end of September).

Yes, my DS told me that they intend it to be monthly or at least quarterly. I guess we'll see.

Anyone with Tesla home delivery?
Did you keep the white car cover
and if so
what did you do it?
See photo.

Well, our delivery experience in Austin was simply outstanding. Every one of the Tesla employees (especially the DS) was incredibly helpful & responsive. Minor issues after taking delivery were addressed immediately.

So maybe, just maybe, the Bay Area is just jaded with all that hot money sloshing around. i remember living there years ago and the rat race wore me down very easily. i can only imagine how it is to keep up with the f****book crowd now.

Good for you, maybe, just maybe Austin tesla employees you worked with happened to be good and you happened to get lucky and we aren't just making stories up here in the bay area and just stating actual experiences.

Hello all, new member here and not yet a Tesla owner. A new model S is out of my price range, so I'm looking at the Tesla pre-owned route. I would assume that delivery process is not as grand as the new vehicle deliveries. Does anyone have experience with a pre-owned delivery? Or point me to posts of pre-owned? I've gone back a few pages already, but with nearly 100 pages I'm hoping for some crib notes ;)

Welcome and congrats on your tesla. Search "CPO" in the search bar and you will enjoy literally a bonanza of strings relevant to your situation.

I'm a recent addition to the forum myself and have received lots of insight from the terrific knowledge base. Enjoy!

Thank you for the advice. I'm searching like a mad man and trying to absorb the wealth of knowledge here.

Update - apparently one of the AutoPilot Modules failed in turn causing the navigation to not work. All items above have been addressed except for the rear trunk trim which is messed up from the DS using some sort of cleaner to remove the glue. I ended up dropping my MS at Tesla Service on Wednesday 12/21 and getting it back on Friday 12/23. Was given a fine MX Signature series to drive while work was done. Except for the failure the service was great. I am now enjoying my MS and even took a little road trip. It was great. Now just waiting for the update for Autopilot. Here are some pics of Becky.

Hello everyone - thought I would drop an update on the site. So my ownership experience has not been the best experience so far. I will say that the service department as been great and they have taken good care of me whenever the car has been in for service. Issues I have had so far: As stated above Autopilot Module replaced shortly after delivery. My seats were rocking the passenger side was worse than the drivers side - both seats to be replaced by Tesla. I have had issues with the "Driver Assistance Features Unavailable" warning popping up on a regular basis (I was told to reboot the center screen whenever this happens - no affect) - not only is this annoying - also not able to use these functions on my car - one of the main reasons purchased due to commuting. Currently I don't seem to be receiving the updates that Tesla is sending out for AP2 cars - haven't received the last two. I think I have been sold a Lemon. Interesting I don't really see many people on the forums with issues - so maybe I just got a bad car? Don't get me wrong I like the car - its just frustrating how many times it has been in for service and it seems when its not in service there is some issue going on with the car. Done with rant now on to make some calls to Tesla.

One of the last built with the tan / black headliner option and the ventilated seats. I love it all and it was worth the wait. Here's the pictures!
I'm probably a couple weeks away from pickup in Dallas as well (currently in production). My specs are identical except that mine is the 60D and dark ash wood. I ordered on the last day of ventilated seats.

Thanks for the pics...the wait is killing me but it's nice to visualize what I'll have outside of the virtual design studio.

I see this error often on my new car as well (Just over 3 weeks old now) Its very random. Today morning, saw the error, drove to work without EAP, afternoon went for lunch, still saw the error and no EAP, after an hour, coming back to work after lunch, everything is fine and dandy and working normally. I've also noticed that my headlights stay ON all the time when the error message is shown and "auto headlights" ONLY work when this error is not seen and the road markers show up on the display.

I've associated this to EAP still being released slowly and there being quite a bit of tweaking going on. Until they officially roll out the main update that makes it fully operational, I sort of expect these type of issues. I have a feeling service will tell you the same thing and ask you to wait until 8.1, but do follow up and let us know

To respond to the other comment, this error shows up as soon as you get into the car, even in the garage and basically the road markers don't even show up when you drive, so no road based GPS based issue from what I can tell.

Picked up my new 90D today in Fremont.

The DS was awesome. Spend a lot of time with us, walked us through everything, installed the phone dock, etc. She was very knowledgeable, helpful, and created a great delivery experience. Even gave my kids Tesla coloring books to keep them busy while she walked us through the features of the car. The car was in the building and she took pictures of us inside and outside the building with the car.

I was told I had all the latest AutoPilot updates including parallel parking. But when I drive I get the error about Driver Assistance features not available. I'll see if I still have the same issue tomorrow.

Overall I'm very happy with the car. Lots of super cool features and a good delivery experience. 100% opposite of my experience in December when the wrong car was delivered.

AutoSteer is working.

Haven't yet used AutoPark and not sure yet how to use it.
You have to be driving 15 MPH or under and there has to be a spot available on the road. The instrument panel will display a park spot available icon by itself. At that point, you stop, put your car in reverse and tap the engage auto park button on the touchscreen (it will automatically display - you don't have to "look" for it).

Picked up my first Tesla (a CPO S 85) yesterday. It was such a long wait (ordered December 19), but it was worth it. The car is beautiful! Our delivery specialist was great, answered all our questions, and got the pace just right-- it didn't drag on too long, and it didn't feel rushed. The exterior was flawless, and the interior showed a few signs of a previous owner, but you really had to look for them to find them.

When I was considering whether to order, I looked up the threads about problems with early VIN Teslas (ours is on of the first 10k), and tempered my expectations about fit & finish. But our car has exceeded those expectations hugely. I get the Tesla grin just looking at it, let alone driving it.
