Owners Manual crashes Tesla's computer

Haven't seen this bug yet. Let me know if it's something known. When I try to open Software -> Owner's Manual and open anything in it, I see no manual, but instead the screen freezes and the AC starts to blow at full speed. Two-button reset or existing and closing the car help. I reproduced this several times. Basically, I can't open the Owner's Manual at all, and it crashes the computer. Am I alone?

Yep, happened to me on Sunday when trying to use the search function in the manual. Screen froze, max A/C.

You are not alone. I just got my car 3 days ago. Today I've tried opening the owners manual 3 times and each time I get blank pages and the whole computer crashes.

This also happened to me. Trying to search in the manual and it froze, a/c max out, after try different things on the screen the whole thing rebooted and then it was fine. I haven’t gone back into the manual since.

I had this happen to me a couple times the day I bought the car. I thought it was because the premium package wasn't working yet and it started working after one of the reboots and since then it has been fine. No A/C max though.

Same. Happened twice.

At the time I was plugged in although fully charged. Pulled the charger out and put the car in and out of gear a few times. Still unplugged tried again and it worked as expected.

I haven't tried again with car plugged in.

Yup, had to restart after the same thing happened to me last weekend.

Well I put in a service request. They said they'd send an update in a day or two. We'll see if it fixes it.

Same exact issue yesterday while trying to research autopilot camera in on screen manual.

I had the same issue, but while I was driving!! Passenger searched through the owner's manual while I was driving, screen froze and AC maxed out. I was still able to drive the car but info on the screen was all stuck, but I had to pull over and park and the screen rebooted itself.

Owners manual crashing system has happened several times to me. I have SFW 2021.4.15 Seems like it may be a recent bug. I have used the manual in the past.

Happened to me. Can’t use owners manual.

Happened to me on 4.15.8. Two days later I’m on 4.15.10. I’ll learn tomorrow if the newer software fixes the owner’s manual problem. Might explain why it was rolled out so quickly.

At some point, when I was on my home WiFi, the manual started to work again. So for now the problem is kinda resolved on its own (without update), but I will check it time to time and report if it comes back. It's a strange glitch.

Software update 2021.4.18 seems to have fixed the service manual issue!
