Awesome!

Feel free to provide more info for all: specs, when ordered, vin received, etc.

Thanks!

No prob!

Reserved first day (or was it 2nd day?) at the buena park dealer. Walked in later in the afternoon rather than wait for hours with everyone. I reserved under my dad's account since he already has a P90D and would get first dibs on the 3.

Ordered 06/28/18 dual motor. Estimated delivery was sept-nov 18. Wasn't happy about that, so....
Changed 07/02/18 to performance. Estimated delivery aug-oct '18. Happier, until...
07/19/18 "Your Model 3 has finished production and should be ready for delivery soon."
Checked the reservation online and sure enough there's a VIN attached.
Got a call the next day to finish up some pending stuff on the account, such as trade-in and payment information.
Pickup scheduled for 07/25/18 in costa mesa

Model 3 info: Performance AWD, Premium Black Interior, Solid Black Paint, Enhanced Autopilot, and Full Self-Driving Capability. After taxes, just north of 80K.

Trade-In info: Tesla was going to offer me a generous  $7,500 for my 2007 Saturn Sky Redline with 45k miles on it. Wasn't going to part with it for less than $13k (which i know is a stretch but i bought it for almost 3x as much and rarely drove it so it's practically brand new to me).

Finance info: Tesla finance approved me at their usual 3.55% for 72 month loan. Not bad. Chase was offering 4.2% for same length. Partners Federal Credit Union quoted me with 2.74% for 75 months or 2.2% for 36 months. I went with the longer.

Did you look into other options at all for financing? Like Credit Unions etc? Just wondering if you went with Tesla bc they were so close anyways in offers.
Nope.. just lazy and I know I will be paying off the loan within 6-12 months. Tesla financing application is very easy.. I think the outside loans have a more complex application. I think outside credit union offers <2% interest so worth doing if you plan to finance your Tesla over several years.

Update on my situation: No VIN yet but I got "The Email"! :D:D:D

"The wait is finally over! Your Model 3 delivery will be happening soon."

I emailed the delivery specialist some info he needed. Now I'm hoping to hear back from him tomorrow to find out exactly when the delivery will be. I figure it could be as soon as this week or as late as mid-August like some others in this thread. Presumably that is due to transit and I won't have to wait long, but we shall see...

EDIT: My apologies! In my excitement I forgot to list my details for those interested/in need of data points:

May 20 order
P3D+ // MC Red // White interior // EAP (or, if it's easier, everything but FSD)

I love listening to your Ride the Lightning Tesla podcast every week. I am happy to hear that you will almost be getting your Model 3. Keep up the great work with the podcast.

Please post about your experience with Model 3 delivery at Costa Mesa after you get your Model 3. I will be going to Costa Mesa next weekend for my P3D delivery and would love to hear how things went for you. I could have gotten my Model 3 as early as Wednesday but we can't make it out there in time from work for the delivery.

Well that's quick!
Are you an employee or current/previous owner?
When did they contact you regarding delivery?
Interior color?

Congrats!

Not current owner. Non employee. Black Interior color.

My first contact after I ordered was on the 19th via email telling me the VIN had been assigned. I received a call that same day from my advisor to get all the online paperwork done. I put all the info in and I was given a delivery date of the 25th that day.

Not sure why it went so fast. I was expecting mid august at the earliest. Estimated delivery when I placed the order on the 11th wasn't until mid Sept. July 12th is when Tesla changed everything with orders and pushed all Performance models to the front of the line. Perhaps that had something to do with it.

1) Congrats!
2) So when they wanted your payment info, you then filled out the application to get their quote? But you then wound up going with the 2.74% offer for 75 right? I think that’s how I read it...
3) Did you get the performance package “plus” option?

Correct. It was either cash, Tesla loan, or other payment. I chose Tesla loan and it forwarded me to fill out application for their lending. After they ran the check, it was viewable under the same area (aka instead of forwarding me to an application it just showed what i was approved at). If i hit submit, then it locks it in and i would have to contact them if i did another form of payment. After receiving a better offer, i just hit "other payment" and it asked me to fill out a few details of the payment like bank info and how much to finance.

I didnt opt for the performance package plus option as I am plum out of organs to donate :p

Sorry for all of this as I'm now in this same step... So you just filled it out but did not hit the final submit button right to lock it in? That way, you could still shop around?

now I just have to upload these trade in photos... It was failing for me on my iPhone when they were taken and uploaded to the phone..

Thank you for the kind words! And congrats on your imminent delivery as well!

Debating if the 5k performance upgrade package is worth it. Current configured a performance model with the 18 inch aeros. I know the performance brakes are only on the upgrade package but can you confirm if the calipers are painted on the non upgraded performance model?
On performance model without 5K upgrade the brakes are the same as non performance and are not painted red. The 20" stock wheels are too heavy so its a waste of your 0-60 in 3.5sec. You can get better brakes and lighter wheels aftermarket for that same 5K.

I ordered performance too without the 5K upgrade.

yep! that way i could get an idea of what they offered without actually committing to their loan.
