P100D in non-P mode

If I set the P100 as "90D" in the settings (and switch off Ludicrous), will it perform exactly as a 90D, or will there still be more consumption than a "stock" 90D or 100D (non P)?

You'll still have more consumption presumably as the car weighs a bit more (power density was increased, but I believe only partially chemically, the other portion comes from additional cells.)

Right, but wouldn't it (P100D in 100D mode later) be exactly the same as a "100D" when that get released eventually?

Performance cars have a larger rear motor which is slightly less efficient than the motors used in non-performance dual motor cars front and back.

To clarify, P100D battery pack has cells with the same chemistry as 90D, just more of them. The new battery pack architecture that likely allowed for increased energy and power density is discussed in detail here.

Who says they will even release a 100D?
They probably will, but you never know. They might want to market the car as it's high end fast stock production vehicle.

Elon Musk. P100D battery packs are production limited. 100D will be released when production of battery packs with new architecture ramps up.
