P3D with Performance Upgrade and Black Interior status

Those of you who have been paying attention probably noticed that Tesla has only been delivering:

- P3D black interior w/o Performance Upgrade package and
- P3D white interior w/ Performance Upgrade package

If anyone's P3D black interior w/ Performance Upgrade package is getting VIN or new updates or Edit button gone, please share!

For other configs, please find your corresponding thread

Your order is locked for production ..however I have seen folks able to change by calling in ...

I have the MCR with perf upgrade and black interior. My Delivery advisor is now looking for one with white interior also since I told her i would happily take either. I also offered to take delivery in WA or NV if that helped make it earlier, since i'm planning a coast-to-coast trip anyway.

If your delivery advisor is cooperative you can look for something slightly different than you configured, without paying a penalty. I would not count on that, but there is the possibility if you have a good rapport with your SA. They are swamped so do keep your request very, very simple.

To which post are you referring? They all seem OT dealing with the apparent lack of Performance M3 with black interior being delivered.

That helps.

That tells me - the bias selection for 5K extra was definently slanted to the white.

Though of course 5K and Black is more margin ceteris paribus so why the delay....?

...and my delivery specialist suggests none of these has yet been delivered, which is why I offered to accept a white interior if that would help.

EXACTLY! and the non 5k blacks are being built, so we know the parts are available.. Its really odd that they would skip a bigger margin version at this point in the game. Thanks for any feedback you can get from the other side of the fence.

Glad you created this thread, They were splintering too much. My config is P3D+ MSM w/ Black Interior. Owner, 12/2016 Reservation, 6/26 Confirmation. My edit button has been gone for weeks and I have the new confirm screen, cash payment, no VIN, no contact. Hoping for late august delivery at this point.

A guess, nothing more than that, is that the white has more margin than does the black. Although white apparently has the 1,000 per month limitation to which Elon referred a couple of months ago, that actually might not mean it costs more. Their assumption might well be that those of us who are sufficiently gullible to opt for the most well-equipped version might tend to take "all options that cost extra" thus including white. Anyway in the beginning everything was the same price from 18" to 20", white, black, it was all the same price. Then maybe almost all of us preferred white.

Finally, they do want the simplest possible production line, so probably batch exterior color, interior color, Performance upgrade too.

Frankly I do not care why: I just want my new toy!!
