P85 Loaner Governed at 80 mph

Went on my test drive yesterday and the demo was also limited to 80. We were on the interstate and very quickly ran up to 80 where it stopped accelerating. I was told they don't like it but it seems to be the new standard with demo/loaners.

At the very first "Get Amped" test drive event a few people got more than a little crazy with the speed. The limiter was introduced for later test drive events and they've been doing that ever since.

When was the last time you felt a sudden urge to test 0-100 in a Toyota Camry rental?

I've never rented a Camry. But if I did, I'd want to see what it could do, just like every other car I've rented!

80 mph is definitely reasonable for the loaners, but for some reason, I think the limiter would be funnier set just under 88 mph... I'm sure we all remember what Dr. Emmett Brown says would happen if we hit 88 mph...
