I'm wondering how the P85D can be 1 second faster 0-60, but only 0.5 seconds faster in the 1/4 mile? P85D was announced to be 11.8 seconds, but there are videos of the P85 doing it in 12.3. I'm guessing the 11.8 time is pretty conservative and we'll see faster real-world times. What do you think? Also, pretty funny to think about a stock car that runs times that until recently would require a roll cage. It may have been a few years since I last hit the track, but I thought the cutoff for a cage was 11.5. Nevermind. The rule has been changed to 10.99 and faster: ROLL CAGE Roll cage mandatory in cars running 10.99 (*6.99) or quicker or any car exceeding 135 mph. Maybe in the next version...
The P85D will be faster by a second getting to 60 but the P85 will of course travel further while getting to 60... Which is mathematically how this can happen.
If I did my math right, if it maintained the same level of acceleration as a 0-60 in 3.2 seconds (about 0.85G!), it should reach 1/4 mile in 9.8 seconds... but I know it can't maintain that for 9.8 seconds, plus that would mean a finish line speed of about 185MPH. So, I'll take mine to the track and test in December
