P85DL for sale in Arizona, best offer

This site may earn commission on affiliate links.
This vehicle is one of the rare and most attractive Model S to ever be sold, in my opinion, due to it having the trifecta of P+ suspension, free lifetime supercharging and Ludicrous mode.

Pearl white with Carbon Fiber trim/accents.

Hood/door-handles/spoiler are all real Carbon Fiber
Interior has center console with carbon fiber trim and grey/carbon-fiber trim
Also has tow hitch/receiver installed (used for bikes and small trailer one time)
Two sets of wheels included; 19" slipstreams and 21" staggered turbines (need to be refinished, I can have this done for you, you choose the color/sheen); both with new sets of tires (<5K miles)

Options include:
Air suspension
Premium Sound
Autopilot
Panoramic roof
P+ suspension (only on a select batch of Ludicrous mode vehicles)
Upgraded MCU to 4G LTE
Ludicrous mode
Full battery shows 308 "ideal" miles
Free Supercharging for life

Clean AZ title without any liens

Has been in a collision, front bumper still has some marks from this collision and so does the drivers-side wheel-well; I've put photos of these in this post.

Will accept any reasonable offers, need the money to bank-roll business needs.

52k miles

What’s stopping you from doing that? Go ahead and buy it. Should the seller mark it as sold to you??

I could just say "my wife would kill me".. but that's not it. Seriously though, I'd have to get both cars down to NC to have "someone" do the Ludi swap. So that 2x$shipping costs. Pay him to do it. Get both cars back to where I live. 2x more shipping. Then store the donor car here and try to sell it off for a big discount just to get rid of it since it would still be a white car, with some damage and a black hood, but no more ludicrous. I guess I could turn it into a Turo beater since it has AP. But the entire thing would probably cost me $40k-$50k less whatever I see the donor for, when all said and done. Getting Ludicrous on my current car just isn't worth that.

Besides, I already have plans to find a wrecked/salvaged P100DL and use that battery to transplant into my car. I think that would be cheaper route to a P100DL+.

I'd love to buy it just to stuff the L battery and L parts into my own P85D+.

Then part out or sell the rest with my non-L battery.
Have you considered? Order a Kit - Factory Five Racing
Then pick up a "salvaged 100D" and build your own sports car.
Keep your Model S pristine.
EVwest is one resource.
Also google search: Lotus with tesla motor
You can probably find even more resources - Rich (car guru; tesla salvaged repair guy)

You get the idea.

I'm interested, does it have next gen seats? Do you have interior pics, been looking for a CPO car, able to get those for high 50's, low 60s now with warranty; what are you considering a reasonable offer?

Sorry, no interior photos right now, I got injured and haven't been able to get to this. Sorry all. The front hood had a little damage and I decided to replace with Carbon Fiber despite the higher cost because I could then justify not getting it paint-matched so the overall cost was only a little higher than OEM would have been with paint.

I do have the original hood as well and can include.

Not the next-gen seats, depending on your height those may or may not be desirable, my wife hates the next-gen seats for example (she is short).

reasonable offer, you tell me! It is Ludicrous-mode so don't compare to non-Ludicrous, but understanding the accident-stuff dings the value perhaps it lands back around a typical P85D in price?

This is a P85DL+...

Actually, this car would be perfect to do a facelift on due to the front bumper damage, I was going to do that myself but really am not a huge fan of the facelift look and drove the last 25k miles on it not really too concerned about it overall... But for someone looking for facelift-look, this would be a good candidate.

Sorry for lack of interior photos, the center console is the EVANNEX CCI, otherwise it is stock grey-leather with carbon fiber trim. In very good condition interior except for a little wear on drivers seat, otherwise it's perfect interior (as far as I can tell)...

Why not part out yours and keep this one? Why go through the hassle of swapping batteries/firmware when you can just drive this one and have Ludicrous mode right away?

Because frankly, your car has a lot of damage, a black non-stock hood, and is white with grey interior. It's really a project car.

My car is in mint condition, dark blue with black next-gen interior, 20k fewer miles, has an Autoflex wrap/dip, the LightHarmonic audio amp upgrade, hard-wired Escort radar/laser detector/jammer, and honestly is worth a lot more, even without ludicrous mode. Nobody would ever consider "parting out" my car. What I want is *my car* with Ludicrous mode, not just any banged-up car in an off two-tone color scheme and more miles which just happens to have Ludicrous mode.

By the way, what is the rated miles@100% charge? Nobody uses "ideal" miles unless they're trying to obfuscate the actual battery capacity.

Why would you say nobody uses "ideal" miles, it is the only rating that is actually based completely on battery health/capacity? I would not personally want someone to tell me their "rated" miles when that has to do with driving style... Change the wheels and your rated range will change... Anyways, I don't know the rated since I don't use that, I drive by Energy % myself... I'll get the "rated" range for you soon but I am not too excited about you suggesting I'm "trying to obfuscate" the battery capacity when I'm trying to do just the opposite of that.

I understand your car, that is cool, it sounds really nice!!! It sounds like a good idea to do the battery swap for you and then sell the P85D you'd have left-over for maybe $50K and eat the difference as your cost for the Ludicrous upgrade? Make an offer, honestly, I just want to start the dialog here...

Why would you say nobody uses "ideal" miles,

Pretty much everyone uses rated miles when selling cars here on TMC. For a 2014 P85D, rated miles should be between 240 and 250. Some are higher, but they're uncommon. It's the standard everyone uses to compare apples-to-apples. Nobody uses ideal miles.

I'll get the "rated" range for you soon but I am not too excited about you suggesting I'm "trying to obfuscate" the battery capacity when I'm trying to do just the opposite of that.

Ok, I apologize, but even with the difference between rated and ideal, it's rated that everyone would want to know. If you don't want to charge your car to 100% to get rated miles, then charge it to 80% or 90% and post rated miles for those levels.

It sounds like a good idea to do the battery swap for you and then sell the P85D you'd have left-over for maybe $50K and eat the difference as your cost for the Ludicrous upgrade? Make an offer, honestly, I just want to start the dialog here...

See my post #6 above-- there are just too many extra costs in doing a battery swap that makes it not worth the 'difference' just to get Ludicrous mode. If I had piles of extra cash laying around that I didn't care about, sure, but I don't. After all the extra costs involved, and selling your car with the non-L battery at a big discount, it would probably cost me $20k-$25k just to get Ludicrous on my car. It's just not worth it. If it were $5k, I'd do it. But I have no idea what I could sell your car for in the end, so that's a big unknown/risk driving up the final cost.

Like I said, I really wish I could, but I just can't. I also realized late last night when I asked the person in N.C. last year if it's still possible to do a mod/swap, I think he said that the P85DL firmware is no longer available to even load onto the car (my car), so the entire idea/project might be dead in the water anyway, even if it made sense financially.

Hi all, sorry for delay. I got the rated miles and it is 239.

I have some interior photos and posted them on eBay listing for the car.

I’m not sure what other interior photos are wanted please let me know
