Looks like the proposal is 8.1 cents per mile. They are going to double the registration fee. Also of importance to the folks on this forum is they also are proposing an Electric Vehicle Fee.

 
It's not per mile that I have a problem with, it's the $0.081/mile.
That's insanely high. There must be more to it than that.

As far as an EV fee goes, they'd need to replace the Federal gas tax. I'd have though a per-mile EV supplement on top of the state per-mile fee would make sense.

True. At . 081 per mile someone traveling 15,000 miles per year would pay a usage fee of $1,215. According to the article the current fuel tax is . 53. So a little math shows that for the same 15,000 miles a vehicle averaging 25 mpg would use 600 gallons of gas. This would equate to a usage fee of $318.
