Paint Protection Referral (SoCal)

Hey guys,

Long time lurker and finally picking up my model 3 this coming Friday and want to bring it in to get the full front end protected with Xpel Ultimate. I’m wanting to get all the edges tucked so there’s as minimal possibility of noticing the Xpel. I searched and found a couple of places, but I’m unsure of how detail oriented and if they can wrap all the edges.

I’m located in Irvine and am willing to travel, but not way out to NorCal.

Any referrals that would suit these requests are greatly appreciated!!

The Tesla Owners Club of Orange County has had meet ups with Glistening Perfection (Costa Mesa) and DP Tint (Tustin) and both do great work...

I have personally had two Teslas wrapped at GP.

And if you're inclined to, I help organize the OC Tesla club, see my sig for links. .

Thanks for your responses, I’ve reached out to a couple of these referrals and hopefully can get something set up just after the holidays.

AEdennis - I noticed you’re picking up your model 3 at Marina Del Rey on Friday. I’m picking mine up at 115, if you’re around that same time. Love to meet you and say Hi
The link to your tesla club in your signature didn’t work for me..?

Try Extreme Autowerks in Cerritos - ask for Bing, the owner or Ryan, their master detailer.

Paint correction, paint protection, window tint, all excellent, all under one roof.

They did the tint (Photosync) for my last 2 Model Ss and the paint correction/protection for the last one as well.

Don’t forget to ask about C-Bond to use with the window tint.

Hi Guys,

I wanted to share with you what I've come up with so far in my search for the right person that I want to use to put clear paint protection on my car and that would be a good fit for any of us that are real particular and detail oriented.

I spoke to Moe over the phone and through email and have also been recommended to him by a couple friends of mine. He is extremely knowledgeable and helpful when asking questions. He took the time to explain what he thought was best considering my budget and expectations. I definitely want to visit his shop to get an idea of the type of work and detail that he offers.

I reached out to Extreme Autoworks and Sticker City - both of which seem to be larger run shops that I didn't get much further than some price quotations. (I find it's more difficult to get answers when working with these larger shops because the installer is not the one quoting etc) The pricing for these were very close to one another in the ball park of $2000 for the front end protection.

Lastly, I spoke directly with Ben @ Bemaro Speciality Films and also went to see his operation since he was working on a Model 3 this week. I have to say that Ben was super friendly and let me hang out with him for a couple of hours while he was installing the paint protection on the front bumper of another model 3. The best part about Ben he installs all the paint protection himself and hand cuts each piece. He actually showed me how he carefully gets the paint protection to tear easily (i was afraid that he might actually be scratching the paint). I snapped up some photos of him while he was working and his attention to detail is just as attentive as mine, maybe more so...?

Here's some photos of him at work.

D'elegance Detailing Home they are also mobile and travel all over Socal. They are installers for Xpel and Suntek. I highly recommend them and they are also paint correction specialists and do a ton of Teslas including mine. They found imperfections I had no idea even existed. Good luck with your search. Let us know how it all goes.

I completely agree! I have had horrible experiences with big name shops or big operation shops. Their QC tends to take a nose dive and lose that personal customer touch. Thankfully I found a detailer who understands this and is very hands on. I hope you find the same cause I have been through the ringer.
