I have the frunk cargo net in my General Production car, even without the parcel shelf. Not sure if there's another net I don't have.Someone claimed (don't know if it's true) the cargo net was "included" with the parcel shelf.

My proposed parcel shelf purchase (was going to do it after the fact) went out the window with the upcoming 0.25% increase in Calif. sales tax come January 1st...
the car I had "way back when" had a parcel shelf and it had a removable tether to the hatchback. when the hatchback went up it lifted the parcel shelf.i would like to have a way that the parcel shelf rises when opening the hatchback, ala the panamera. then it would really be useful and not just a piece of cardboard/fabric

[Mod note: Updated the thread title. Every time I saw the original one (What's it like living without a parcel shelf?), I thought 'oh the horror!' ... so I fixed it.]
The real question here is, why is it called a parcel shelf when you never put parcels on it?
I agree. I should be called the "trunk privacy cover"

My original thread title was exactly the question I wanted to ask: What is it like living without a parcel shelf? There have been other threads on whether you want or need one. My hypothesis is that most folks who have received their cars ordered the parcel shelf. But because they are not shipping yet we have a unique opportunity to ask people who want the parcel shelf what is it like without one? Could you live without it now that you've had the experience or do you still feel it is a necessity? This was the intent of my starting this thread, not the title it has been changed to or to where the thread may have drifted.
I would appreciate the thread title being reinstated as originally worded. Thank you.
It's a shelf.
