Second time in two weeks. Won't open from outside handle or touchscreen. It does function from inside handle. I know Elon said there is a door fix update on the way. It cannot be soon enough.

Doubt a new latch will fix it if it can open from the lever. Sounds like SW. See the thread about the guy that had to have his car towed 500 miles to a SC and they fixed it with a special reboot from inside the frunk.
While you are waiting you can just try cycling it. Pull the lever to open, then pry it open all the way manually. Then close it with the door handle or pulling the level. Test the handle opening again. Repeat up to 10 times to see if it will open from the outside.
Happened to me a number of weeks ago and I had nothing better to do while charging. Has not had a problem since.
I have that problem too with my X. Like everything else with a Tesla, it doesn't happen every time, but often enough to be annoying. I plan to bring the car in for the update that I know is available.
There are fairly recently re-designed latches and that's probably what they will be putting in. Tesla has been -great- about fixing problems and I always feel very well supported (I have a Nov 12 MS and a Jan 16 MX). I love my local team here in Rocklin and wouldn't trade them for the world.
