On July 21st Blake Fuller, the record holder of the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb for production electric vehicles, provided a fascinating presentation at the Laurel Oak Country Club in Sarasota. Blake lives in my current hometown of Sarasota and is the CEO of GO PUCK. I’ve known him for a number of years and I claim the distinction of being the first to introduce him to the Tesla Model S, the EV that he ultimately used for his record run up Pikes Peak.

Blake is a wonderful speaker and he fully engaged the group with his presentation and accompanying videos. There was lots of interaction with those attending. The Laurel Oak Country Club proved to be an excellent venue for a reasonably priced, yet excellently prepared luncheon in a relaxing setting.

Here’s a few photos.

The EV that won the 2016 production EV class, a Model S P90D Ludicrous. Only minor changes were permitted to maintain a production classification.

For the street version of Blake's Model S, some liberties were taken with the interior like this striking Bentley type interior.

It goes without saying that these Bentley type seats were not the ones that were used on the awarding wining climb.

Blake Fuller is a wonderful speaker who has a complete grasp of his subject matter.

Blake describes how to install a roll cage when you can't weld it onto the floor due to high voltage batteries.
