Join Florida Tesla Enthusiasts for a Weekend Getaway in Historic St. Augustine from October 26 until 29, 2018. This event is structured such that each family can spend one day, two or three days (Friday through Sunday) to suit their schedule.
Hotels
We have obtained blocks of rooms at two hotels with different price points. The room blocks are only good through September 11th, after which the hotels will no longer hold the rooms exclusively for us or guarantee the discounted group rates.
The cutoff for registering for this event and booking your room with the hotel is September 11, 2018.
After you register for this event, you will receive an automated confirmation message that will provide you with the information needed to book your overnight accommodations and receive the group discount. After receiving your confirmation message, you must then call the hotel and reserve your room before September 11th.
The hotels are located about .5 miles apart and are both near the historic district. Both hotels have Tesla Destination Chargers and their locations are programmed into your navigation system.

All guestroom cancellations must be completed minimum (3) days prior to arrival, without penalty. If cancelled after the minimum requirement (inside (3) days to arrival date) the first night revenue is due by guest(s) to be paid to hotel.
Important Note Regarding Incidentals:
The Hotels require valid form of payment at check-in to cover Room Rate, 10.5% Tax and Incidentals for entire stay. Incidentals cover Damages; in which an advance credit is placed on each room account at check-in in the amount of $250.00. This amount may be pre-authorized on valid Credit Card, or charged on a Debit Card, in which the unused portion; if any, is refunded back to Debit Card at end of stay, or it may be paid in cash; $250.00 for each reservation. Please note that authorization releases and debit card credit back to cards may take a bank up to 3 or more business days to reflect the adjustments. The time and terms are subject to bank processing.
Planned Group Activities:
The schedule of planned group activities is still being finalized. Due to the limited time to lock in rooms we had to announce this event immediately without finalizing the activities. The event description will be updated as details are finalized and registrants will be notified.
We plan to do a tour of the city and a tour of a local distillery. We expect to have a number of group meals together, but as is our custom, the schedule will be flexible and member families will be free to plan their own activities with or without the group.
Here is our tentative schedule of activities:
Friday, October 26:
5:30 pm casual reception at the bar at the Holiday Inn, followed by dinner at 6:30 pm at Barnacle Bill's Seafood Restaurant at the Holiday Inn.
Saturday, October 27:
Trolley tour in the morning followed by distillery tour & lunch.
Following lunch:
Options: Group Jail tour, Historical museum tour, or time on own to explore.
Saturday Evening: Dinner at 6:30 pm atO C White's Seafood & Spirits
Sunday: Breakfast gathering at 9:00 am at Barnacle Bill's at the Holiday Inn.
Here’s some information regarding the activities we are planning.
DISTILLERY TOUR
St. Augustine Distillerytours are every 20 minutes and start at 10:30 am. They do fill up as the day goes on, so long as we are there before 3:00 pm we should be just fine.
ICE PLANT
We are considering a brunch/lunch at theIce Plant Baris part of the Distillery. They serve brunch 10:00 am-2:00 pm then bar snacks & bites from 2:00-5:00 pm. Depending on our final schedule we may switch to another restaurant better suited to providing lunches.
TROLLEY TOURS
- Old Town Trolley Co.
- Traditional trolley, holds roughly 40, some open air others not.
- 1 hour private tour requires minimum of 20 guests.
- $19.50 pp (tax exempt) and tip is discretionary (suggest 1-2$ pp)
- Payment must be made day of, in lump sum, in check/cash or CC.
- 8.5 miles historic district tour & sites with guided driver.
- Following the tour the trolley ticket is good for unlimited hop on/hop off for a total of 3 days (so through Monday for those staying).
The Holiday Inn, St. Augustine, Historical District is 6.9 miles from the St. Augustine Supercharger Station and has two full capacity (16kW) Tesla Wall Connector Destination Chargers on their property.
The Best Western Historical Inn, St. Augustine is 6.6 miles from the St. Augustine Supercharger Station and has one 8 kW Tesla Wall Connector Destination Charger on their property.
All these locations are programmed into your navigation system.
