Hi Larry
I registered for Jax. and Tallahassee is their any plans for charging when we get there? and it would be cool to have a caravan of tesla's going up if we could get together on a start time like everyone meet at Lake City like 7 or 7:30 what do you think?

Hi Dave,

There are a number of chargers in the Tallahassee area. I know of no plans to have temporary charging at the Capitol Courtyard.

You will have to consult the organizers of the Jacksonville event regarding their charging situation.

Yes, a caravan would be cool and I wouldn't completely rule it out, but deliberately collecting a lot of Model Ss at the same time at Lake City introduces a potential logistical problem regarding charger congestion. The primary objective of course is to make sure everyone arrives on time at the Capitol and are not unduly delayed at the Lake City Supercharger.

Dave,

As a follow-up to my previous response, I happened to be having a conversation with one of the Jacksonville organizers on another matter. In response to my inquiry he stated that there weren't any plans this year to have charging equipment at the event.

For the Pinecrest (South Miami) area event, the Event Coordinator, Pinecrest Gardens Director Alana Perez, sent this to registrants a few minutes ago.

From Alana Perez <[email protected]>

Dear attendees...our local Drive Electric Week is rapidly approaching and we are so very happy you will be here with us. I have one favor to ask of all of you. Tweet your followers and reach out to your facebook friends and let your world of people around you know that this event is happening. As this is our first event of this sort and we entered into an agreement with our fiscal budgets already approved, our only hope at reaching folks is through word of mouth--so as attendees, whoever you can get to come will mean a lot to us here. Additionally, if you know of any EV aftermarket vendors, or solar vendors of any kind that might want to set up a booth, send them our way as well. WE look forward to seeing you all on the 19th...and we will do our best to make this a wonderful event for all of you.

Hope to see as many people as possible on the 19th. And if you know of a vendor who'd be interested in a tent, please share it with her. Thanks!

There were about 10 Model Ss in attendance. Zoom in, you'll see who stole the show.

Just received this from the Pinecrest Event Captain.

This is a message from Alana Perez <[email protected]>.

Dear Volunteers and Attendees....
The day of the event is drawing near, and I wanted to take a moment to first
and foremost thank you all for helping us out and showing your support in
this, our inaugural year. I especially want to thank our sponsor, Martin
Pednaud, Owner/Manager of Doc Bornee USA who has been instrumental in helping
us with logistics. Your primary task is engaging the public, showing
enthusiasm and being there for questions about what it is like driving the
future. Our three dealers who will be test driving are South Motors BMW with
the i3, AutoNation Nissan Kendall with a Leaf and Tesla with their model S.
We will have tables set up front for them to schedule test drives and hopeful
turn many browsers into future owners. We will have a food truck on hand
featuring Brazilian BBQ, and lots of bottled water available to you for what
promises to be a hot and humid day. At 12:30 The Honorable Cindy L. Lerner,
Mayor of the Village of Pinecrest will be hosting a press conference and along
with her will be Mayor Stoddard of South Miami and Commissioner Xavier Suarez.
We are honored to have them join us at this wonderful event. If you can,
arrive a little before 11:00 AM and Elis Avila , our Program and Events
Coordinator or myself will be on hand to help you find your place. Again,
thank you for being with us, and we look forward to a sunny Saturday and a
great afternoon.
