Payment before delivery?

We are scheduled for delivery on the 27th of March, AWD, 20", blue/black.

My wife just got a call from Tesla Nevada saying that they need payment ahead of time to move the car in to Texas. Sounds strange to me. Anyone else been told the same? I was planning on paying by check at delivery.

I was told to either pay online 24 hours before or pay by check upon delivery date. I paid it online just to get it over with.

I believe because Tesla is not licensed to sell in Texas the transaction has to be completed before the car is shipped.

Don't pay before delivery - not worth the risk especially for something as expensive as a vehicle. Pay by check upon delivery date is preferred.

I did it only because I ran out of paper checks lol I don’t see it as a risk as Tesla isn’t about to scam their customers for their down payment and run off with it. Plus you can return the car within 7 days and ppl have done that but it’s rare

I paid before delivery. Got the car 3 days later. No issues.

I picked up MY today; inspected the MY for an HOUR to my full satisfaction THEN attached my cashier's check to the paper work and dropped all into the delivery box. This is the new "touchless" delivery system ( social distancing).

So no live person to deal with? Wow Tesla tryna selll regardless of circumstances lol
