Do folks anticipate Tesla to offer the $2000 Performance Boost OTA upgrade on the Model Y as they do on the Model 3? And if they do what's the consensus on 0 - 60 time, 4.3 or better?

AFAIK just like the 3, the perf Y has a different part number for the rear motor. Unless you were in the first batch that was produced pre shutdown

This. Sorta. Some of the AWD second batch deliveries have the 980 rear units and 8 digit F designation as well.

I don't need The Boost. But wifey wants it, her car, her rules.

My AWD, built this month and delivered two days ago, has the 990 rear motor, not the performance motor.

AWD 12xxx "E" VIN. My first order came in three weeks earlier. It had a perforlance 57xx "F" VIN (and a roof broken by transport). I suspect that one had the 980 motor. Unless you get the aftermarket performance hack kit, I doubt it will matter. The AWD is so fast that the performance boost may not even be worth it if offered.

For my entire life, I've bought the biggest engine available when buying a car - until now. The performance MY literally makes me sick when hitting it, and most certainly would upset my wife. The AWD is already faster than your average muscle car.

Hold your phone behind the front of your rear driver's tire and take a bunch of pictures. You'll be able to read your motor plate number to see the version. Here is mine. The top number ends in 990 (AWD) vs 980 for performance.

I tend to concur. But It puts some pressure on Tesla. Which I like :)
I don't think too much. If it bothers them, they add some code to the system that recognizes if you use it, then voids your warranty for unauthorized modifications.

Who knows if they have the right to do that, but who wants to be the one that fights that fight?
