Assuming this holds any water then it would make sense that they would wait for Plaid Model S to be released to still keep the S faster - which is what it seems Tesla wants to do in order to preserve margins.

A 1 second improvement would put their quoted number at 2.2 - that seems like a lot on the current batteries and much more likely if it were on their more advanced and upcoming battery. And are we talking on newer hardware or a retro upgrade for existing cars? OTA software update only? Performance model only or others?

How reliable would you say your source of this information is?

performance model 3 only ! and 1 sec is from the regular 3.4sec 0-62kph and same for 0-60 mph 3.2
my source work for tesla ! but will see if my source is good :cool:
 
Heyyy Guys why are you so pessimistic?
You make the same statement when we talk about the 990-980 lollll it’s impossible to have more power if you have 990 engine bla bla bla and guess what ? Half a second appear for 2000$ !!!! So let see what happens in the next few month After the battery days
