Performance upgrade option=smaller battery

So this got me thinking, with the performance model Y at 315 miles and the
Performance model Y with the performance package at 280 miles at the same price.. granted, the performance package adds 21in wheels but still a 35 mile difference in range lost. I wonder if this due to possible smaller size battery pack. Especially to off set the cost of the bigger nicer wheels to match the price of non performance package version. If not, then we should be able to get the upgrade package and swap the wheels for 20s, and gain the 315 range? You would think

It's the wheels... the battery is not smaller. They kill efficiency. And it's not that the performance package is free as much as the stealth had a price increase.

Stealth is a rip off in comparison - the batteries are identical. Get the upgrade package and sell the 21" package if you don't want those wheels. It is flat out foolish to pay the same price for smaller wheels, no brake upgrade, no upgraded suspension, etc

Yea, I really don’t get that.. makes no sense

You would be lucky to get 315 actual miles even with the smaller wheels.
Gettting 280 actual miles with the 21" wheels sounds more realistic to me.
