I asked my Tesla delivery specialist, and he said they would accept a personal check for the balance at time of delivery. (I'm not comfortable paying the balance online before I take possession of the car; I was prepared to get a cashier's check from the bank, but apparently it's not necessary.)

I don’t even have checks. So I'll either need to use a card, an electronic transfer, or cashiers check.

I got a text from someone at Tesla inside delivery today saying there were some incomplete details in my Tesla profile. It gave my trade offer and asked if I wanted to go ahead with the offer reply YES. I did and informed them that there was a payoff on my trade that is not showing in my Tesla account. They replied that the needed a picture of the title. I again told them I had a payoff and the amount of the payoff. They asked for the per diem amount and payoff due date. I am awaiting for that info from my credit union and informed them of that but no response. It seems to me like it's an automated system that gets human monitoring when it gets an unexpected response. Still no VIN in source code.

Order date 8/31 performance white/ white fsd in AZ.

I hope you are right, but there are zero White/Black builds minus two that slipped by to the East Coast...

Keep your credit frozen so you can control hard pulls and ID theft. It’s free now.

Same. I don't have checks or even a brick-and-mortar bank. I'm 100% online banking, so I'm hoping I can either use debit, use my account info, or pay online.

I used a credit card. MasterCard, to be exact. And no, it's not a debit card, it's an honest to goodness credit card. No problem at all.

I'd rather use my credit card and get the points! Then just pay that off haha.

Most car companies don't want to accept credit cards for the down payment because the fees are high. 2.5% of a your typical down payment is a LOT. I put $30k down on my last car. Had I put that on a card the dealer would have paid $750 in fees. That's a big chunk of the profit for most dealers.

Now Tesla being a direct seller might not care as much. Perhaps their margins are high enough to absorb the fee.

Oh man, I didn't even think of that. I wouldn't have used a CC (or even a debit card) had I though of it. I want the money to be going to Tesla, not the already rich-beyond-reason CC companies. :/

This isn't true at all. MOST will accept credit cards. Because the choice is actually 1) Paying CC processing fee, or 2) Losing a chance to close a deal right then and there. Any dealer, OEM, sales person, etc. would pay a processing fee if it meant saving a deal.

I've bought cars at BMW, Mercedes, GM, Porsche, etc. and put hefty down payments $10K-$50K on a CC with zero issues. They didn't even flinch and I got to get a bunch of reward miles!

Additionally, Tesla's profit margins are horrible given how expensive their cars are. This is due to heavy investment costs and lack of capacity to drive scale that the big automakers already have. Sure, their margins may be higher than GMs, but it's a fraction of what it should be if Tesla had it's *sugar* together.

Model 3 performance ,Blue Ext , White Interior , FSD ....... Its my dream car without all the maintenance and gas, I have never been so excited for a car.

Delivery will be to Vancouver BC Canada, Financing was a matter of hours but that is where the speed ended, nothing since , no VIN.

But! I did call the delivery center today and she told me that there is currently 600 cars on the way to Vancouver! so crossing my fingers that mine is in there!
