Aye, lemme ask yall..

SO still no VIN for me and rep is not helpful. to recap I ordered black/black M3 with all the upgrades and FSD.

when I look at existing inventory, I WANT FSD for sure. if I just check the box for FUll SELF Driving, does that also include autopilot? Example, if I see a car that has Full Self Driving listed but NOT autopilot explicitly stated, is it safe to assume the car will have autopilot if it has FSD? i know you can have autopilot without FSD.

also, if you were to get an existing car with NO FSD, can you "add" it when you are ordering it?

dumb questions perhaps.

All performance models come with autopilot. You’re given the option to add FSD before delivery and even after purchase. When I go on my Tesla’s vehicle settings, there’s a screen that gives me the option to purchase it for the same amount as pre-delivery or pre-optioned ($7000).

FSD option is autopilot plus some enhancements right now.

Tesla may change that at any moment, but that’s how it is today.

ok so the HW3 and the gear needed for FSD would likely be installed already on a 2020 model 3 performance with a vin in the 7xxx+ yes?

im getting close to the end of my grace period on my loan approval and am now carless (sold it today) so if i dont hear any news from my car i will jump on existing inventory . my main point here is as long as I can upgrade to FSD PRIOR to delivery. not having to take the car to the service shop AFTER delivery to get FSD installed....

Yeah, it’s HW3 already. I’m given the option to add FSD post-delivery on my Tesla account on the website, in the upgrades section in the iOS app, and on the car screen itself.

Very strange delivery experience in Dedham, MA near Boston. Quick summary: It took about 30 minutes and went very well, and I'm thrilled with my new Blue/White Model 3! :D

Details:
- Originally scheduled for 10am Monday but got a text on Saturday saying it would be 3pm instead
- Got there about 2:45pm on Monday and they had at least 2 dozen Model 3s and Model Ys (mostly 3s) ready to be delivered.
- We waited outside watching the activity, and right at 3 someone came out looking for me
- Took us to our new car to look it over, signed a couple docs, then got in to wait for them to complete registration
- About 30 minutes later they came back, put license plates on and we were free to go
- Car had 12 miles on it, and was at ~85% charge.
- Steady stream of people arriving while we waited, about 10 minutes apart

Overall it was a very strange experience, but went well and now we are an all-EV family! Unfortunately it was rainy/snowy so was on the cautious side, but still my oh my the acceleration. :D This is going to be my favorite car ever, I can tell already.

Did anyone’s delivery specialist just go completely MIA? Tried to send emails and phone calls and got absolutely no response, it’s been like that for two weeks.

I’m already paying for insurance and my bank has been trying to send funds over but hearing absolutely nothing from my DS.

Service center is doing the best they can but really need to contact my DS to get this moving.

I realize things are crazy, but would at least expect some kind of response.

I had a similar situation. My SA stopped responding so I called the delivery center and found out that my car is there already about a week before my scheduled date. Hoping to be able to pick it up tomorrow. I had to talk to the sales group as I always got voicemail when I tried the Tesla delivery department.

the lady I am dealing with has now gone MIA as of yesterday around noon pacific. we were conversing back and forth via email then poof. i reached out to her this AM and nothing back.

i too understand the state of affairs but it takes a second to email to let one know whats going on.

perhaps i will call the center too...

Yeah that’s pretty much where I’m at.

I wouldn’t be as upset if my DS wasn’t so pushy at the beginning about getting financing and insurance in order.

Luckily the service center is helping out, they’re coordinating with my bank and getting the paperwork together; they’ve pretty much replaced my DS at this point.

I was supposed to take delivery today but rejected it within 5 seconds of seeing the car. As soon as I walked up to it I saw a chunk of paint missing at the front bumper/fender joint - about 1/4 × 1/8. The guy totally agreed there should not be any issues like this with a new car. Apparently another one has been located and is en route.
People, check your car with a fine tooth comb. I'm sorry, but for $70,000.00 it should be close to, if not perfect. And you will not get anything that resembles a "factory" finish with touch-up.

Allright! allllriiighhhttt!!!!

Long story.

I ordered feb 7th
feb something - got 3-5 week text
march 9th got 2-3 week text
last tuesday got a out of the blue text saying my car would be in the area on the 20th.
.....then crickets....

made reservation to sell my car to carvana this past sat. CA shutdown happened so no sale. panicked , started hitting up other places and went with autonation. they gave me 1800 less than carvana due to economy (understandable ) but time was of essence and did not want to wait for private party. my car had good equity so i ended up putting 20K down on a fully loaded M3 black/black with pup and fsd.

found a cat on this site who had a good sales rep so got her info. she put me onto a "hotline" email that got me to a cat named russ out of mission viejo. i told him what I wanted - i could settle for a different exterior color but wanted black interior and fsd. was getting desperate and about to pull a trigger on a different color when BOOM goes the dynamite, russ emailed me this AM stating he found my EXACT BUILD - complete with FSD!! but in carlsbad.

i did not care! i told him to book it danno! and he did. for grins I did the vin source thingy and finally did see my vin in the source (even though i knew i had the car beforehand) i just had to experienced that.

anyway he was able to move it to costa mesa. i will take an uber from LA to costa mesa (about 83 bucks) and pick up friday at 12pm!

on another note, my allstate insurance wanted 431 dollars a month (up from 207 dollars from my old car which was a 2012 qx 56). i ended up going with tesla insurance for 208 dollars a month with MORE coverage than I received from allstate and lower deductible! so im extremely happy!

ill follow up friday once I get it. ill have about 40 miles of driving from costa mesa to LA to get a good idea of it all.

also a fun fact: i got that text last tuesday stating i would get my car in the "area" by the 20th--well this car was built on march 20th at 4:15 pm---in the end I think this was destined to be my car since it had FSD already in the exact configuration I wanted and I did not see many of these mentioned here or on the spec sheet.

The car has arrived! 18 days from order to delivery. Must say I am impressed with the timeline, at home delivery experience, and overall fit and finish of the car.

That said, there are a few issues with the car. I have included photos for those interested.

I had that same issue with the overlap on the right taillight. They took a picture and said a ranger would come fix it, but haven't had any follow up yet.

Car was delivered to my apartment today! A sales associate drove it from the delivery center with a follow car. He had gloves on and the other SA gave me disinfection wipes to wipe down the inside. Car had no visible issues that I saw, it was detailed nicely and the paperwork was inside the vehicle for me to sign. Overall very happy with the experience and the car is truly amazing! Good luck to everyone else waiting, your time will soon come!

I got the car!! WOOO!!

The car was dropped off this morning right at my home, about 300 miles away from the delivery center. They took away my trade-in too. Signed some more paperwork and sent it back. I did have to email my delivery specialist to let them know that I got the car so they could associate it with my account, giving me access to everything for the car.

I was so excited, I drove around town a bit before realizing I didn't even put up my temporary plates. Of course, I realized that just as I saw I was about to drive past a speed trap. It's all good though!
