Got a text this morning about a tentative delivery date on 9/25. Email the delivery specialist to ask about VIN. This afternoon, got an email with purchase agreement doc and VIN number. I am in Texas.

Well this gives me some hope. I also contacted my delivery specialist, but received a more generic answer. I also live in Austin, ordered White/White Performance on 8/7, and had the 5-6 Week text on 8/24. So far I haven't heard much.
 
My car is in Nashville now and according to the delivery specialist via email - they have contracted a carrier (wrecker, I assume), and the car will be picked up on the 15th and delivered by the end of the day on the 17th to my home outside of Memphis.... Is the wrecker driver going to take the car home for a day or something? It's just a 3 hour drive.... :D

No, its mostly not going to be delivered on a wrecker but a trailer with a bunch of other cars on it. Probably needs to pick up other cars first
 
Not sure why that would be. Nothing special about my order, I didn't order online, I went to one of the Tesla stores and placed the order there. Maybe that made a difference.
I think Tesla is just messing with me at this point. Its not the first time its happened. Congrats on the car though! I'm hoping it will be like the batch of white/white builds that hit a week ago. They had a few extras. if that is the case I will just have them link me to one of them if I am quick enough.

Pretty sure Tesla is eager to get $60000 from each one of us.
 
I'm done, cancelled my order. Order date was 07/22, and I am getting zero info. I thought Tesla was different, but they are equally as full of *sugar* as every other car company. "approximately 2 weeks". Whatever.

Wow that sucks. With all the talk of them pushing to get all their orders filled by the end of the month I would have at least waited two more weeks. Unless you're one of those guys who doesn’t have a car and is using Uber or renting just to get around. Then I completely understand.

What location in California did you order from? They were pushing to get cars delivered by end of quarter. You might want to reorder to get the latest discounts and deals.

So close to the finish line! What the others said are right you get some incentives but now you would pay 1k more. I ordered after you and they said we should get it by eom
 
It's a principle thing. Tesla knows damn well that their real lead times are, but they straight up lie to you and say 2 weeks to get you to sign, and people put up with it. I've put it up with it for far too long. That coupled with Tesla's wild price increases / decreases, I will just wait to see if they ever get their sh!t together. I am very familiar with production - albeit not cars, but the principle is the same. If you normal lead time to produce something is 2 weeks, and you are taking 10 weeks to actually make it, you do not want that product made during that sh!tstorm. When a company raises prices in the middle of a model year, or not the standard time price increases are done (ie, a new model year) they are covering potential issues they know about. Then I got to thinking more about how much of a straight up scam it is to sell FSD when it's not available / legal yet, and if your car gets totaled in the meantime, you just pissed away 6K and Tesla tells you "too bad so sad"! It would be like having to pay for all your apps again because you bought an iPhone 11. It's preposterous, and a straight up money grab. Bleh. Rant over. Sorry for being negative, but these are real issues.

Just got this text: "Tesla Update We expect to deliver your Model 3 in the next two weeks and will update you when your delivery appointment is ready to be scheduled. To ensure a smoother delivery, please log in to tesla.com/teslaaccount and complete all outstanding tasks for your order in the next 72 hours."
 
Anyone get any updates in CA? This is crazy frustrating. Ordered Aug 9th M3P White/White. I keep getting told “it will be done this week!”...every week. I turned in my car because the lease ended last week (even planned ahead for a two week overlap/buffer just in case it was delayed) and here I sit with no car and no end in sight. Then I hear they are pushing hard to sell as many cars as possible for Q3 and offering incentives <insert confused face>. I hope this isn’t a forecast of what owning a Tesla is like—if so I’m out. Thanks for hearing my rant.
