Got a text this morning asking me to schedule my delivery date at Marina del Rey delivery center.
Ordered 9/17
Delivery date : 9/25 @1 pm
Went into my Tesla online account and nothing has changed. A bit worrisome.
Got financed thru USBank, says loan approved and the rate and terms are defined as well as the payment. But I don’t know how to get the funds to bring to delivery. Will be stopping by Tesla store to get more clarity.
Have heard that delivery sites are a cluster F—- and that there are long waits. Can anyone comment on their experience at MDR delivery center?

I drive past the Marina Del Rey deliver site almost every work day and on Friday the lot was packed with cars (there's been weeks when there are only 1 or 2 in the lot recently). The main issue I see with this place is the douchebag driver's coming out of it super fast and cutting off people to get out of the parking lot or in it. Not sure if these are test drivers or employees but it happens a lot.

I didn't pick up in MDR, but Buena Park delivery went smooth, they were about 10 min late because some guy walked into the wrong area to buy a car and my guy didn't want to turn him away but overall, I was out of there within 20 min and I took probably 10 min inspecting the outside of the car. I did tell them that I wanted fast delivery (had to get back to work) and I had researched the car before so he just went over the main things like adjusting seats, mirrors, steering wheel, AC, and setting up the phone key and driver profile.

Got a text this morning asking if I wanted to pick my car today, I obviously replied "HELL YEAH! "

Was scheduled to pickup on Saturday, but called the delivery center on Friday afternoon and asked if it was ready for pickup and they accommodated me. Showed up and had a Tesla employee help me sign the documents. I noticed that my Tesla insurance active date was set to my original scheduled pickup date, so was advised to call the 800 number to get that sorted. Tesla insurance agent advised that it is not possible to edit the start date and to cancel the policy and start over again. It would then take up to an hour to reflect in the system. Instead to save further headaches I called State Farm to open a new policy effective that day which probably annoyed the volunteer, but there was no way I was taking delivery of a nearly 70k vehicle without proper insurance.

I inspected the car using the delivery checklist posted here, which made me realize the rear quarter panel was scratched up very minorly on the passenger side. Volunteer wasn't sure how to note it at first, but asked and advised to schedule a service appointment from the app and upload photos and note the damage. Once I handed over the cashiers check, and settled my tax balance via my account (ACH transfer) the app activated and I was all set to drive away. Overall, it took about an hour and the place wasn't too busy for a Friday afternoon. I would advise against setting Saturday deliveries if possible to avoid the ensuing melee.

Took it on a roundtrip up the mountain and had a - blast. Well worth the wait and overall, as long as incentives are adhered to, no complaints out of me. This car and company really is awesome.
