I was in a similar position as you. Originally I ordered black interior because my other two cars have the white but I changed my order 4 days later after doing a take home test drive for about 18 hours with a white interior model 3!

There are a lot of people self-justifying their "stealth" cars as "just as good". For many, that is the case; however, there will be quite a few that will regret their decision to downgrade. Some of this post is likely me self-justifying why I stuck with a real "performance" model when I don't really need it. Then again, it was never about "need". It's like a highly modified jeep that rarely leaves the pavement.
Guess the real question is....how many vehicles can they actually produce in one day! They can assign 1000 VINs in a day, but if they don't send out those cars...or at least mine! ;-)
I just want my VIN so I can apply for financing haha! AND it'll make the excitement even more intense because it's really happening!

"Fire up a Google Chrome web browser, log into your Tesla account. Click on the "manage" button, wait until it loads your "overview". Right click on the page and then "view page source". Now you can see that page in it's source code format. From here, press Ctrl+F (Find) and search for word "5YJ". If you see something like this "vin":"5 YJ XXXXX X K F 418XXX", you have your VIN."

Congrats guys! I feel like things are moving a long then!! I ordered 10/14, so I'm anxiously waiting too! Woo!! Finally performance VINs
digging into the spreadsheet a bit, it looks like they do white for a couple days, and then black and then alternate back and forth. a few outliers but overall, id expect black interiors to start getting VINs on Tuesday based on previous numbers.congrats !
yes, they are working on White. I ordered Black, still don't have VIN
Also, for CA peeps, it looks like once we get a VIN, its only 2 or 3 days until delivery!
