Performance Waiting Room

Hey everyone! I just made an account on TMC. Excited to be a part of the community.

Wanted to post my details for documentation sake.

12/3/19 - Performance Model 3 Ordered

No VIN or updates yet.

The website still says orders placed today will be available for delivery 12/31... is this true?

I will be taking delivery in Arizona. Any veterans in the forum? Just curious if someone knows more than I do regarding a realistic expected delivery date for my car.

SUPER EXCITED!!!!

I went to a pre-delivery training last night in SLC, Utah location they told us they are planning to receive over 200 cars in a two week period. I heard them tell another person there that they should get their car by the end of next week, so maybe coming next week or week after in Utah.
I'm also waiting here in Utah. I'm going to the pre-delivery orientation this coming Tuesday. It sounds like we're still a few weeks out from more deliveries? Did you find the orientation useful?

Because I've watched what feels like every YouTube video out there and am currently reading the manual, I didn't really learn anything. There were about 30 people in attendance and the Tesla staff just went over some basic functions of the car. I mainly wanted to ask if they are going to put a front license plate on the car at delivery and they said "no", thankfully.

How does the car look as far as fit and finish?
It’s actually beautiful. Not a single issue with panel gaps, interior quality, blah blah. I truly believe Tesla has made huge strides in the QC department and it shows.

With that said, the person who checked the car over prior to delivery noted a super minor scratch on the back of the front passenger seat (in the plastic part). I wouldn’t have thought twice about it, but they already scheduled me for an entire seat replacement next week. This went above and beyond in my opinion.

And with THAT said, I also have to say I was a pretty annoying customer. Ordered 10/6 and was told 2 weeks max for delivery. Once my trade started being devalued, and the car price started increasing from what we agreed ($250+ for the black paint, $1000+ for the performance), I started making noise. Then the SA sent a group text message to all customers (privacy?), to which I couldn’t help but reply-all with the picture below.

From that moment on, I felt that my order was expedited. Not trying to suggest that you should be annoying (we all have annoying customers in our lives) but sometimes a few extra questions are justified.

I’ll grab a bunch of pics and post them shortly. Needless to say I’m ecstatic with the purchase and really enjoyed letting auto pilot drive me home :) while resisting the urge to mash the accelerator the whole time haha

None of the above. My SA (Mo) has been the worst SA ever... I texted multiple times to ask for updates after everyone was starting to get their vin numbers with no response. I decided to latter call and see if anyone had any updates on this matter and they said they could see a vin assigned to me and scheduled me for a pickup appointment (at this time I did not had a VIN in the source or showing on my page) a day latter the VIN showed up on my manage page. I'd call the Tesla automated system and allow it to transfer you to the Tyson's Corner dealer and see if someone else can see something in the system.

Side note: What config do you have ?

Hmm interesting. Maybe I should call, I just also don't want to harass them since I'm sure they are getting hammered with calls :-/

Some of us even ordered in late September early October and haven’t gotten a vin.

Ok but what does that mean? Because it seems like a lot of people get their VIN, and then get their Tesla a week later.

If you ordered in Sept and early October, I'd be harassing them every day if I hadn't gotten my car by then - you're talking 8-10 week delivery time when most of you were quoted 2-4 weeks on the site, right? That's outrageous. I'm really concerned now since multiple phone representatives and specialists have told me i'd get my car this month. That's unlikely if you guys are waiting 8-10+ weeks :O

I think they're prioritizing people out of state (CA), because it doesn't take as long to get us cars from the factory. And per the California thread, they did the same thing last year, making CA people wait longer than people from other areas. I wouldn't worry if you've been assured you'd get it this month. The waiting is painful though.

I am so happy for you. The car looks beautiful!!!

I thought you had to let the cameras calibrate for a few hours of driving prior to using auto pilot? Or is that only for NoA?

Thank you!
The camera calibration only took about 10 minutes. It blocked me from using autopilot while calibrating. When it finished, I pulled over, turned on the options, and let the car drive me the rest of the 20 minutes home.
