If you recently bought your car and haven't filed for your utility rebate (was $500 in 2018, set at $800 for 2019), you might want to get your application in asap. The Sacramento Bee is reporting that PG&E might sell off it's gas unit to pay insurance claims and then go bankrupt. Not sure if they will be paying out any rebates in light of the massive fire damage if they are found liable.

PG&E could sell gas division, or seek bankruptcy, as Camp Fire woes mount

The PG&E Clean Fuel Rebate is funded by the LCFS (Low Carbon Fuel Standard) program. As long as there is a utility selling people electric "fuel" for their cars, there will be money that must be returned to those customers. PG&E cashes in those LCFS credits and must disburse the proceeds to customers with a process approved by the CPUC.
