Phantom Drain 24 Miles Per Day Since 20.2.1 Update

I received the 20.2.1 firmware three days ago and my M3 had not slept since the update. This is the firmware with the new dog mode texting and the auto screen nighttime mode dimmer default. I have checked all the settings to make sure the update did not change any setting that would use more power.
Cabin overheat protection OFF
Sentry OFF
Removed Dashcam USB stick
Smartphone Bluetooth disabled and Tesla App terminated
I have made no setting changes in the past few weeks.
I rebooted using the two steering wheel buttons and again with the brake applied.

Until until about two firmware updates back, I could always hear the pumps running AND the charge port clicking anytime my M3 was not sleeping. Now after a variable amount of time the pumps make no noise but the charge port clicks continuous anytime the car is awake.
Anytime the charge port is clicking the contactors are closed and the car is NOT sleeping. Not sure why the charge port latch is being cycled during warmer none winter months (needless wear and tear)? The computer knows what the ambient temp is and at temps above 50 degrees F (which is almost the entire year parked in my garage) should not need to cycle the charge port lock?

Since there are times I only drive once a week around 30 miles, this high phantom drain represents the lions share of the household power cost. At 24 miles of phantom drain that is about 6KW usage per day. Own typical power usage before I purchased my M3 was about 10KW per day or 300KW per month year round. The ambient temps in my garage currently varies between 70F and 80F, this should not require any passive or active cooling, correct?

Is anyone else seeing very high Phantom Drains since the latest firmware update???? I am at a loss as to why the car will not sleep.

Thanks Very Much in Advance!!
Regards, Ron

Are you using any third party apps that use your Tesla account?

If you are - change your Tesla password to be 100% sure they aren't waking the car.

Thanks for your reply! I did install Tesla-screen about two months back after about 10 min Tesla-screen states it will not keep the car awake. At this point I am willing to try anything off to change the password.

To answer the question posed in the first post, OP, I have not seen any change at all in my energy usage on 20.2.1. My car still uses approximately 2 ish miles a day and sleeps just fine. I dont have any third party apps at all connected, just the tesla app itself.

You might also try engaging remote support from tesla if you cant figure it out. You checked all the other stuff (cabin overheat etc).

Second the recommendation to try changing your password just to break any connections. It seems like you got everything else.

Other than that, you could try turning off data sharing temporarily I guess. I think unlikely to help.

Also select advanced for software updates, turn on and off WiFi and see whether you can get close to a WiFi access point, maybe your car wants another update. I think unlikely to help.

On the plus side, your contactors and your 12V battery are no longer being cycled! Longevity! ;)

Not going to sleep has just about always been due to third party apps.

The Tesla phone app isn't an issue, as long as you aren't checking it.

Changed my Tesla password about four hours ago charge port door still clicking (not sleeping yet). I almost always leave my Frunk open in my garage have been doing so for many months. With the frunk open, I have had no problems with the car going to sleep; however, a change could of been made in the firmware that checks to make sure the frunk is closed before the car is allowed to sleep?

Maybe! You should try closing it. The car certainly knows the status of the frunk. Why do you leave it open? Fewer open/close cycles I guess?

Doors not being closed will prevent the car from going to sleep. In tesla especially "I did this for many months" really doesnt mean anything, as things can change with firmware updates.

I cant think of a reason why someone would leave the front trunk open when parked in the garage but you obviously have one... with that being said, if you are having issues you should revert to a known operational "normal" state... and I dont believe its "normal" to leave the car with doors open, even if its the front trunk or rear trunk.

Closed the fruck and the car did go to sleep. The day I installed the 20.2.1 firmware I had the frunk closed. Around 13 hours later, when I got into the car to drive frunk still closed, it had lost 13 miles of range, unfortunately I forgot to listen for the clicking at the charge port door before that drive session. I will report back to this thread in about a week with an update.
