Phone Dock no longer comes with the car?

Hey all,

Just took delivery on my brand new model S on Saturday, and the Delivery Specialist said they are no longer including Phone Dock connection for the iPhone?

Is this true?

Don't believe it was ever included as a standard item. Some SCs may have included it as a free perk during delivery.

Thanks for confirming! It used to come with the premium upgrade according to another thread but it seems like they no longer give those chargers for free...

The phone dock was definitely included with the premium upgrades package. Did you go with PUP?

I took delivery 3 weeks ago (100D with Premium Upgrade Package). I noticed no dock as well and was told "it was discontinued because of fitment issues with cases"

I took delivery 1 month ago, I was told is not included any longer even though I have PUP... I pushed back and asked for it and got it within a week installed at the SC

It is definitely not discontinued because I just ordered one from my service center on Friday. They are still available on the Tesla web site as well. It’s $34.

Yep, I did! I did all options except the full self driving...

I should've probably done that. It's not about $40.. It's the principal at this point.

I assumed BS, just because I know they came out with the USB-C one... why bother with newer USB tech if you are disco'ing the thing. Personally I don't like the placement or the slow charging - so it was not even worth arguing about.

I'd love to get the aftermarket one you mentioned, but I don't think it has faster charging either (pls correct if I am wrong there).

My phone is like a Tesla... capable of SuperCharging, but our default USB ports are not....

emailed my DS yesterday and asked if I will be getting the Quick Connection Phone Dock with the car as I got the PUP and he emailed back and said no it is not included and would have to be purchased seperatley.

My plan for iPhone "supercharging" is to try and plug in the USB side of the cable into a 2.1A cigarette lighter adapter instead of the Tesla 1A USB ports. Might need a short extension cable.

Don't fight too hard for it, and surely don't pay for it. It's pretty much garbage. I used mine for a couple of days before I'd had enough. I don't even think about it, anymore, unless and until I see posts like these.
